Schedule was already thrown into disarray on the first scheduled day of the tourney due to weather.  Here's the revised schedule.   NOTE:  Times listed below are CST.   Crude estimate for our game is 5:30-6:00 ET.  Ty Bothwell will be on the mound.

First game; first upset.  #6 seed Penn State knocks off #3 seed Iowa 5 - 2.

PSU scored 2 in the 3rd off B1G Pitcher of the Year Adam Mazur who made it through the 5th but did throw 95 pitches giving up 4 hits and 4 BB.  PSU added 3 more in the 6th on a 3-run HR.  Iowa scored single runs in the 3rd and 6th but were held to just 2 singles in the game.  PSU pitchers struck out 15 batters and Iowa pitchers struck out 17.  The latter is a new B1G tournament record.

PSU advances to face the #2 Rutgers - #7 PUke winner while Iowa will take on the loser of that game.

#2 seed Rutgers advanced with an 10 - 3 win over #7 seed PUke and will next play #6 seed Penn State.  PUke will face #3 seed Iowa in a losers bracket game.  Score was tied at 3 after 2 complete and stayed tied until the 7th when Rutgers scored 5 more runs and added 2 more in the 8th.  Oddly enough, both teams had 12 hits.

This game ended at 5:45 ET so our game is expected to start around 6:25 ET.

Hoosiers with just 1 hit thru 4 at bats.  Maryland got another leadoff double in the bottom half of the 4th and another double made it a 2-0 Maryland lead with 1 out.  The 3rd double of the inning plated another Maryland run and it's 3-0.  And yet another Maryland double made it 4-0 with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs.  Bothwell gave up 7 hits, 5 of them doubles and walked 2 and was relieved on the mound by Sharp who got a K to end the inning.

Hoosiers on the board in the 6th after a pair of singles to lead off the inning coupled with a Maryland error. Another MD miscue put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out but we couldn't drive them in.  Maryland had runners on 2nd and 3rd but Sharp got a crucial strikeout to end the 6th with no MD runs scoring.  After 6, it's a 4-1 Maryland lead.

It's a 4-4 tie game after 7 complete innings.

Mathison with a solo HR (#18) to lead off the 7th made it 4-2.  An Ellis single, a Doanes walk and a passed ball put IU runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.  Serruto struck out but a balk made it 4-3 with a runner on 3rd and a 2-out single by Glasser tied the game at 4 and forced Maryland to its bullpen.   In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, Sharp gave up a single and then hit a batter but a fly out ended the Maryland threat.

Neither team scored in the 8th.

Hoosiers go 3 up 3 down in our 9th.  Sharp stays on the mound.  He's pitched 4.1 innings and not allowed any runs.  He's given up 4 hits, no walks and struck out 8.  He pitches a 1-2-3 inning in the 9th but is up to 89 pitches and that may be it for him tonight.  We may have barely made it into the tournament but we're giving the #1 seed all it can handle.

Hoosiers take a 5-4 lead in the 10th.  Runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and Jessee reached on a fielder's choice and gets the RBI.  The play at the plate was reviewed and the 'safe' call was upheld.  A double play ended our at bat but we have a 1-run lead.  Sharp stays on the mound and gives up a leadoff double -- Maryland's 8th double of the game -- and is replaced by Perkins.  First batter Perkins faced lined one to right field that was misplayed scoring the tying run and allowing the Maryland batter to advance to 2nd base.  Perkins strikes out the next 2 batters bringing our total to 17 in the game tying the tournament record Iowa set earlier today.  A soft liner to 2nd ends the Maryland threat.

5 - 5 ballgame.

Maryland leads off its 11th with its 9th double of the game, a new tournament record, and its 14th hit of the game.  That's followed by a bunt no one makes a play on to put runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs.  Then a hit batter loads'em up.  We're unraveling with questionable base running, a misplayed bunt and now the HBP.  Our 18th strikeout sets a new tournament record but it could become an insignificant record if we can't pull out a victory.  Good grief.  Perkins hits another batter with the bases loaded and that's the ballgame.  Maryland wins 6-5.

Hoosiers move into the losers bracket to play the loser of #4 Illinois v. #5 Michigan.

Jeezus -- a walk-off HBP.

Game tied, bases are loaded in the bottom of the 11th --- and you hit the guy? How damn stupid!

I dont think that was the plan

I didn't insinuate it was lol

Calling someone stupid for a physical mistake is confusing. Perkins has to pitch lefties inside.
