Going to be a long season

Recommended Posts

IU lost several big D1 players to other teams. Also, the loss of Zeller, Vonleh, and Fisher put us where we are today. We need to get behind Crean and get a big for next year.

He's not the only coach that has to deal with losses, every coach does.  Sure we lost players, but it's also an excuse.  He has to win regardless, that's his job.

Glass half full. We will surprise many teams this year and grow as a team all season long. The cards have yet to be shown. This is why they play the game not for us to speculate how terrible they are going to be. So sit back and enjoy the season I've waited all year for HOOSIERS basketball and will be happy and upset throughout the season. However I still love to watch and will enjoy every game. They can accomplish much more than what the negative Nancys project. GO HOOSIERS. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and give this team a chance.

Problem is in Crean's 6 full seaons here we've seen that once (Zeller's freshman year), the other 5 either stayed the same or regressed.  I'm not comfortable banking on what has been an aberration so far.

Sure they can, anything is possible.  It's possible I could wake up next to Emma Watson too.  No defense, no rebounding and an offense entirely reliant on the 3, which is a low percentage shot, is not a good combination.  We all want the team to do well, some of us see the problems and don't feel comfortable relying on enough low percentage shots falling to overcome those problems.

The thread title is true:  "Going to be a long season".

There will be ups---like yesterday versus Pitt ---and downs---like Eastern Washington.

Just don't give up on the season before it really even gets started------watch for progress which I saw yesterday as a young team with a ton of freshman and newcomers learn to play D and big time College BBall.

The team has a long way to go---but they still have a long time to get there---because it is a long season.

We will get some good measuring sticks along the way to test our progress---UL, Butler, and Georgetown to name a few before Big Ten time.

Don't panic or jump off ledges or grab the pitchforks just yet---and I won't say I told you so or do an endzone dance yet either just because we won last night---because the truth is none of us know how it is going to turn out---because it is a long season.

The one thing we can do is support our team and our Coach---that's the IU Way!
