Minnesota and Rutgers play twice this season. The worst teams in any power conference. Both are 0-13 in conference. Both have only won 6 games on the year. Worst games of the year?

these 2 are the single reason why the big 10 conference rpi is lower then normal. 7 teams as of today are projected into the field (half the league) but overall the big 10 is 6thin rpi even behind the sec.
Edit: big 10 is 5th 1 spot ahead of sec

Well 4 tans in the Big Ten are under .500. 1 team is only 2 games above .500.... the B1G just isn't that good this year. A team like Michigan might get in because the bubble is 100 teams.

but yet half the league is projected in the field. The year iu won the big 10 outright. The big 10 had 6 teams under .500 in conference and was the number 1 rpi conference

6 teams under .500 in conference. Not 4 under .500 overall and with two teams that haven't even won 10 games yet.

There were 4 under .500 overall the year we won it. Purdon't, Nebraska, NW, Penn State.

4 of 12 that year which is 33 percent of the conference, this year 4 of 14 so far this year which is around 28 percent of the conference. So in a year where the big 10 was 1 in rpi 33 percent of the league was under .500 move ahead to this year where the big 10 is "just not good" only 25 percent of the league is under .500

We're they as bad as this year though? Those 4 teams ended up being 54-76 I believe. Right now the 4 bottom teams are 36-66 so far. Penn State at least won 2 games in conference. Minnesota could get that if they beat Rutgers twice or the other way around.

which was my original point that Rutgers and Minnesota are historically bad in conference which is bringing down the conference rpi. Maybe compared to years past big 10 conferences it might not be as strong but at the end of th day for this year in college basketball season 7 of 14 teams are projected in the field. With 3 top 10 teams and 2 others in the top 25. If the ap poll isn't your thing then 7 teams in the rpi top 52 and 8 total in rpi top 100, if rpi isn't your thing then 5 teams in the ken Pom top 25 with 10 total teams in kenpom top 100. I would say that is not bad for a conference considered not to be good but this is just my opinion

Minnesota much better than record. Rutgers, likely worse power conference team in nation. Minnesota should win.

I don't know if you can say they're better than their record when they've won 6 games all year.

abs to think... Minny is super terrible and have Little Rick an extension this year... as if anyone will be jumping to grab him.

i have watched them play numerous games. Not just ours. They are competitive and have "been there" in many. Call it the "eye test".

So maybe a 10 win team? Lol. I mean.. they're just really bad. No matter how they're looked at.

they beat Clemson and just took a top 5 team in Iowa to the very end on the road. Hopefully you have watched them more then the 2 games they have played us to form an opinion. In my opinion Wayne is right they are a way better team then their record represents

They are exactly what their record says. A bad team. You don't go 0-13 in conference and be thought of as a decent team. They are terrible.

i would rather be 0-13 and have a pulse and play top teams in a conference to close games then be 0-13 and get blasted by 50 by Purdue and over 20 by an Illinois team. No one said they were world beaters just a better team then their record. I agree they are still bad just not as bad as this 0-13 record shows but if you just want to look at the record and not not watch them on the court that is your own personal preference but for people who just watch a ton of basketball other than iu games and other top level games I would hope they could tell a difference in Rutgers 0-13 and Minnesota 0-13.

they might be more of a 3 or 4 win team. But that doesn't really mean much. If they already had 5 or 6 wins then it'd be easier to see them as decent team. The year they made the tourney in 12-13 they were 8-10 in conference abs were a Top 10 team at one point in conference play. But at 0-13... it is a better 0-13 style wise than Rutgers.. but I'm surprised Rutgers still has a team with all the injuries and suspensions.
