I like the move from 2 teams to 4 teams but it really should be 8. No more, no less.

Currently we'd have:

1 Mississippi St vs 8 MSU
2 FSU vs 7 KSU
3 Auburn vs 6 TCU
4 Oregon vs 5 Alabama

Alabama and TCU deserve to be in as much as Auburn or Oregon. I hope it expands to 8 soon, but it'll likely be a while.

I like 8 or 16. I'm a Big Ten person (well, really IU only), but I believe the SEC has many of the best teams and a lot of them will not get in the top 4 playoff.

Nah.. Cut conference tournaments then as all major power conferences are likely to have a representative anyhow. Only 2 teams play 3.

16 teams likely too much as 4 games for 2 and 3 games for 4, but I think 8 is the magic #.

Easy. Take out at least one of the games against Directional Alaska State. Kick some of the money the NCAA will inevitably make off of this new playoff to non power 5 schools to compensate for not getting paid to get railed by Bama. Maybe not THAT easy...but hey it's worth a shot.

That's not a bad idea. A bit sad for divided conferences who will never get to reunite like ours, but eh. Screw those guys for being too big.
