Our 4-1 Hoosiers will be in Tempe, AZ for 5-games in the Littlewood Invitational.  All times are ET.  No indication on our softball website that any of the games will be streamed or any live stats provided except for the AZ State game.  That could be updated closer to Thursday.

What a way to open the weekend. 23-0 demolishing of Portland State.  Aly VanBrandt went 5-5 hitting for the cycle that included 2 HR and a total of 7 RBI which tied a program record.   We had a total of 22 hits with 6 other women having multi-hit games and 4 women with multi-RBIs.  Ella Trout pitched the full 5-inning run-shortened game allowing a single hit and 2 BB.  Later today, they'll play AZ State.

Winning streak ended with a 7-6 loss to Arizona State in yesterday's second game.  We had a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the 5th but ASU scored 4  and added 3 more in their 6th.  We picked up 2 in our 6th and 1 in the 7th but it wasn't enough.  We used up all our hits in the first game and could only muster 5 in this game.  Taylor Hess started and pitched 4 solid innings and then imploded in the 5th.  Single game scheduled for today at noon against Pacific.

New winning streak started with an 8-0 shutout win over Pacific in a run-shortened game.  Jasmine Reyes started and pitched 4 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 BB.  Aubree Hooks pitched the hitless 5th.  We had 8 hits with Alex Cooper and Peyton Drummond each with 2.  Aly VanBrandt, Cooper and Avery Parker each with 2 RBI.  Next up is Nevada at noon on Saturday.

Nevada takes the final game of the weekend 4-2.  We were limited to just 4 hits.  Aubree Hooks started but gave up a run in the 1st and another in the 2nd.  Reyes came on and was nicked for another 2 Nevada runs before Reyes finished the game.  Next weekend the women will be in Tampa for 5-games at the UCF Tournament that will run Friday thru Monday.

Great start to the weekend with an 8-0 win over Colgate.  Troutt and Mannon combined on a 2-hit shutout and didn't walk a batter.  Only 3 of our runs were earned thanks to 3 Colgate errors.  We had 6 hits led by VanBrandt and Bird each with 2.  Parker had 2 RBI.  Women get the afternoon off and will play Saint Joseph's at 9:00 am Saturday morning.

Another day another win.  10-1 over St. Joseph in a run-shortened game.  Hooks pitched all 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 0 BB.  We had 13 hits led by VanBrandt with 3 that included 2 triples; Cooper and Bird 2 hits each.  In all, 9 different Hoosiers had at least 1 hit.

Women win the first of 2 today in a 12-9 slugfest over Boston College.  Reyes started but was pulled in the 2nd having faced just 11 batters but giving up 2 hits and 4 BB and being charged with 4 BC runs.  Hess relieved and pitched the remaining 6 innings allowing 7 hits and charged with BC's other 5 runs.  We scored 7 in the bottom of the first and added 3 more in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th. We had 14 hits led by Parker with 3 (2 for HRs) and Cooper, Bird, Strader and Kettleman each with 2.  Parker also led the way with 4 RBI.  Scheduled to play UCF at 3:00 today.

Women trailed So. FL 5-2 going into the 7th.  Got 1 but that was it and they end up with a 5-3 loss.  Troutt started and pitched into the 5th giving up 5 runs on 6 hits.  Mannon came on and pitched hitless ball to finish the night.  We had 7 hits, 3 of which from VanBrandt.  Re-match with USF tomorrow at 1:00 on ESPN+

Women go 4-1 on the weekend beating USF today 11-1, scoring 9 runs in the 5th.  Hess, Mannon & Troutt combined to hold USF to 4 hits and 2 BB.  We had 11 hits.  Bird had 3; VanBrandt and Strader 2 each.  Bird's 3 hits drove in 5 of our 11 runs.  

Next week we'll play 5-games in the Elon & UNCG Tournament facing Charlestown Southern (2), Elon and UNC Greensboro (2).  First home games of the season set for March 6-8, against Minnesota in the B1G opening series.

Started the weekend off with a 9-1 win over Charleston Southern in a run-shortened game.  We scored in every inning.  Brooke Manning pitched a 2-hitter and walked just 1.  We had just 5 hits but we got 3-run HRs from Aly VanBrandt and Josie Bird.  Avery Parker also had a solo HR.  

In today's second game, we hold a 5-1 lead over Elon and we're batting in the top of the 5th.  VanBrandt has had a pair of homers in this game.
