Hurryin' Hoosiers!

Recommended Posts

Alright, let's cool it with the recruiting comments in every thread. We haven't lost anyone recently and we have plenty of targets out there. I really don't understand where your all is lost mentality regarding recruiting is coming from.

Sent from my place of advanced, analytical thinking: the toilet.

I would point out every decent transfer that chose OSU or Michigan St. in our conference over I.U. Granted I'm talking transfers but damn!!

BTW... I usually... nope... never talk about recruiting or transfers. I am commenting on this thread.

Countless others...... Need I say more???[/quote] Once again, Swanigan and Spalding are not lost. It's not over till they officially put on that jersey.

We went hard after Goodluck, Robinson, and Richardson who also went with the local favorite Syracuse. These we're disappointing loses.

All the rest on that list were last second desperation attempts to fill open spots or transfers. We went hard for a few, but Cunnignham stuck with the team that had been with him from the beginning, Yante went to the Spartans which he said he would do if he received an offer from them.

We signed 4 top 100 recruits last year. According to 247's top 100, there are 62 top 100 recruits left. When Spalding who appears to be our #1 choice, Shake Milton and Juwan Morgan, who we appear to be very high on as well, all commit elsewhere, then there would be something seriously wrong. Besides the valid unbalanced class argument, you really can't complain about the recruiting we've seen from Crean.

We technically have only one available next year if you can assume that no one makes the jump to the league and no transfers. Assuming one early entry and one transfer we're at three. Not much too play with. In 2016, we have at least 4 open. We've been spoiled by large recruiting classes with lots of top talent in recent years because we had more scholarships to give. 2015 may be a little different.

We went hard after nearly all those guys with the exception of Deng Deng and Moses Ayegba. I have generally been super impressed with Creans recruiting.
But the fact is, we hit a major bump after the Blackmon Commit. Yante didn't go to Michigan State. He went south to Georgia or something. You can make as many excuses as you'd like but the past year of recruiting screams otherwise. Will it change. Hopefully and I'm counting on it, but we have not got anywhere near the results one would expect of Indiana in the past year. This is not meant to bash, but April, Priller, and even Hoetzel are below expectations based on high major standards.

I think we have to agree to disagree about us being in a recruiting slump.

Crean will show us this year if he can adapt... Talent has trumped his coaching in the past. If it does again this year, he's golden in the "fair weather" eye. If it doesn't... It really doesn't matter, the buyout is to big. I am rooting for Crean like nobody this year cause I really like the guy, and I feel like he is still trying to adjust to the spotlight that is INDIANA! Give up the ghost of last year and let the players play!!

Seems like last year would've been a great time to show if he can adapt his system to fit the personnel he has.  The pieces were there, just not exactly what he needed for what he wants to run.

Heck, even the squid adjusted his system to take advantage of having Randle down low.  They played differently than the past few UK teams.

The SQUID!!! I love it!!! While I'm not a fan of said squid, I have to admit that you are correct. He coaches a "young" team every year with success! CTC should be watching the squids film, and not try to incorporate  "Harbaugh" logic into his program!!
