The 2015 Recruiting Class

Recommended Posts

When it comes to Top 10/ Top 8. I personally feel like they have a top 3 or maybe 5. They include the other 3 or 5 to include the schools that: A: Have crazy passionate fans that interact with the recruit on Twitter B: have been showing a lot of interest in the recruit and they don't want to let them down by not being in top 5. C: They like attention, a Top 8 keeps them relevant amongst a lot of basketball discussion. I feel like IU in the top 8 is simply out of respect for Indiana & Crean's effort to recruit him. Would be shocked if we got an official.

Your best friend just wrote that CTC told him he got away from his game  in the tournament last weekend. All the other coaches told him he played great. That's why we're still in it.

Lol - you must have read a different article than the one he tweeted out. Cus that wasn't mentioned anywhere in it.

So it seems as though we don't have a very strong position with anyone in this class so far. Am I correct in thinking this? And if so, shouldn't that allow us throw EVERYTHING we've got at Zimmerman? We at least have a foot in the door with him. Do we have any insight on our recruiting goals for 2015? Based on the current composition of our team, it seems that Zimmerman would be the best addition possible.

Still nothing on mobile, but I see it now on full view. This quote is so telling:

"Honestly the feedback that coach Crean gave Stephen this weekend from watching him kept him in the Elite 8," she said. "Other coaches may have told him he had good games but Stephen knew he didn't play as well as he would have liked. Coach Crean gave Stephen real feedback on what he saw and how Stephen got away from playing the game his way, the way that has gotten him to where he is."

Basically only reason we weren't cut was his real comments. So they kept Indiana for sympathy like I said.

Or maybe he found a new respect for coach. It's easy for a kid (or anyone) to get caught up in the wining and dining and all the praise. Sometimes someone telling you you aren't so great can have a big effect.

It's possible... But from that quote I take it that IU was 100% cut before Crean made those comments. I doubt you'd ever end up at a school that you ALMOST cut from your Top 8.

It is altogether possible what you're saying is correct, but I believe you are too closed off to the opposing position.

Guess we know Crean's dating strategy now. "You aren't that cute. You've looked better when your hair was this color." Lol

That was awhile ago when she said that. Could possibly take a UV, but I don't see an OV coming our way. She specifically said "We're definitely working on a visit list now." So that will essentially be him picking his top 5.

Which only works when she agrees her hair was better the other way and thinks all the other guys won't be honest with her.

Not closed off at all. It's great that Crean went out there and made those comments and had that impact. Could he become a Hoosier? Sure. Will he become a Hoosier? Based on what I've seen and Heard it isn't likely at all.

Official Visit: Any visit to a college that is paid for by that university. You and/or your legal guardians will have your transportation to and from the college paid for. Also paid for by the college will be your room, meals (three per day), and entertainment expenses. Generally you will receive three free passes to that college's home game the weekend you are in town. Before you take a visit you must send your transcripts to the college (Division 1 only) and SAT or ACT score and register with the Eligibility Center.
You can start taking Official Visits opening day of classes your senior year.
You are allowed only 1 Official Visit per college and no more than 5 Official Visits to Division 1 and 2 colleges

Unofficial Visit: Anytime you or your legal guardians visit a college campus that is funded by you. You can take as many unofficial visits as you would like. During dead periods you cannot speak to any of the coaches while visiting the campus. Three free tickets to a home game is the only thing a coach can give you during an unofficial visit.

Let's not slam the door shut before Zimmerman does. I feel like this is the kid that could make the biggest impact for us in 2015.

Going off of what 41 said, you can pretty much take as many unofficial visits as you want (you could end up spending a lot of money), but you can only have 5 OVs.

*Yes, I know this was in 41's post, but I was writing it at the same time...
