So what do you guys think, grab Maten and Cunningham and go to war next year?

Too quiet with Josh Cunningham.

If he was moving our way, I'd think we'd have heard about the momentum by now.

Anyone in the know agree/disagree? (pap, you seemed to be the closest follower here).

I agree with the Cunningham stuff.  Too quiet.  So many recruits lately seem to use the IU offer as a catapult to offers they are really looking for.  Is that the case here?  Seems likely/possible.

I don't get that vibe here. I don't have any inside info, but I wonder if, unlike with Maten grades could be an issue?

I think it's been quiet with Cunningham on all fronts. Haven't seen that he has really done anything important with any schools. The last 3 entries on his timeline via 247 are all IU related. Nothing else going on. Just maybe taking a break after the season before he decides to sit down and make a decision?

I've read that Cunningham pretty well has it together. I don't see grades being an issue for him. Plus, Bradley is high on his list and I think that's a pretty good academic school.

That's excellent news.  I'm a big fan of what I've read and seen on video regarding Josh Cunningham the basketball player.

Also, Bradley is not as good an academic institution as IU.

Bradley is close to home, though. It really all comes down to if he (or his family) wants to stay close.

Peoria is closer, but it's not close like DePaul or NW would be.

IU is plenty close enough.

Yeah I wasn't 100% sure. I knew a couple people that went there and it was pretty expensive. Didn't know if that went along with tough academics or not.

Private school. More of a local reputation.

If you're a serious student you'll never go wrong with some of the nationally acclaimed programs (such as business, Ed, music) that IU offers.

Something else IU has going for it: Peoria is an overall terrifying town. And Bloomington is, well, Bloomington. It seems like every somewhat major city north of Champaign is scary. Peoria, Springfield, Kankakee...come to God's Country Josh!

If you leave at rush hour, it's probably about an 8 hour drive to Bloomington lol.

True... traffic here is the worst. Though, it's pretty equally awful in every direction at rush hour so it's sort of a wash!

Got stuck in rush hour traffic after a Cubs game once. We lived south of Champaign, so it was normally a 3 hour drive. Took us 6.

So Maten's recruitment just got a heckuva lot more difficult for schools not in East Lansing. Izzo steps up and offers him a scholly while he (Yante) is in Bloomington. Power moves only.

Even Crean's buddy Izzo isn't beyond giving him the big middle finger.
