Facilities...

Recommended Posts

First of all, I'm here!

Second, I've talked about this on other boards, but there is supposed to be 2 more facilities announcements coming soon. One will be a wrestling/volleyball building, and the other is a south end zone building. According to some posters on an unnamed other site, its supposed to have a health/rehab facility for all sports, and then some suites/seats. Concessions/bathrooms/gift shop and all that too. I always enjoy seeing stuff like this develop, so I'm looking forward to the announcement.

The south end zone addition should do a nice job of making the stadium look more empty.

Well, I think the idea is that we'll, you know, continue to improve. We've already got ticket sales up from 30K to 45K, so if we actually have a winning season, we should get back to capacity.

I agree. Things are definitely looking up, but we "should've" had a winning season this year. Blame can be put wherever, but the fact is that until there is consistent winning, we won't get the turnout that we want. You can't lose to the Navy's of the country at home.

I don't mind that we lost to Navy (they're an 8-9 win team), its that we couldn't stop them ONCE.

Yeah, Navy ended up being pretty solid, it was just the way we lost to them. It was pretty pathetic. Don't get me wrong, I would love for the stadium to get packed, it will just take consistent winning. Hopefully we're about there.

I hope you're joking.

The North End Zone Project and the upcoming South End Zone Project isn't about adding seats.  It's about improving the facilities to not only make the stadium nicer but to attract recruits.

A nice weight room has helped improve our recruiting.  A nice rehab facility will help as well.  What is under the new seating is more important than a few thousand seats being added to capacity regardless of whether they are empty or filled.

Without attracting recruits, you won't become a winning team.  Without a winning team, you won't fill the stands.

Definitely wasn't joking, but I see what you're saying.

Good football facilities and good game atmosphere helps all of Indiana's recruiting efforts. No matter how bad the team is, Bloomington grin is BEAUTIFUL that time of year and seeing Indiana fans tailgate for games and show that school pride is a great things every coach wants to show their recruits. The football team will come around.

I believed in Hep, I lost faith again with Lynch, I believe again in Wilson. Some questionable moments last season that cost us a bowl game, but our players have another year of experience and I couldn't be more excited for next season's team and quest for a GOOD bowl game.
