That seems really pointless for the Pacers. I seen one reporter say he thinks it's just to keep him away from the heat but the heat already passed on Bynum. I'd rather you all sign him than us.

I really don't understand this. I don't want Bynum all that much, he isn't really anywhere close to the player he once was, he was never that good defensively, and now with his knees this bad he sucks defensively. And offensively he is way inconsistent, he'll have one good game, then 3-5 bad games. I hope these rumors are just rumors.

Also, I've heard tons of reports that Bynum's camp wants more than league minimum, he isn't worth more than league minimum. I hope we don't offer this diva what he wants.

Here is a quote from Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports:

"(Bynum) doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He never liked it that much in the first place."

So..there's that. This one is officially a total head-scratcher, folks.

My one hope is that West, Vogel, Vogel's staff, and Hibbert get him to bust his ass. That is my big concern is the fact that multiple people have said he doesn't really care for the sport.

I'm kind of neutral on the subject. I hate it and I love it for this reason. Say this guy gets motivated by Vogel to play the game.. Some solid backup minutes out of this guy could really be HUGE. But on the other side what if he just wants paid and is still a shell of himself. I just can't see Bird signing this guy if he didn't seem motivated. Maybe I'm just too optimistic.

It came out he didn't like playing basketball back when he was a laker. I don't get it he's made enough now why not just retire. Then again if I could get by with being hurt all the time and people wanting to give me millions I'd probably keep playing too.

That would be great if they could light a fire. Because he is dominant when he wants to be. Im more confused by this move than worried. If he starts causing problems, he answers to Sir Bird. And Sir Bird doesn't mess around.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure this guy is riding around the NBA collecting paychecks for as long as teams will take chances on him "coming back". I guess it's a smart move, but it makes me hate him more.

I agree. I hate it but teams will always be willing to pay for 7 footers.

Also he only wants to play for championship contenders. So along with just running around getting paychecks, he is riding other players coattails to accolades.

You know..the more I think about this move, the more I like it. Mostly based off of the risk/reward. They will sign him to a contract that says if he pulls any crap, it's back to the streets (his mansion). If he decides that he is on board, a good bench just became great. He had 20 & 10 games with the Cavs
this year, so he still has something in there. My faith in Bird is overriding my hatred for Bynum at this point. This could also turn into a Mahinmi trade, that becomes cap space, that becomes...a long term Lance contract.
*hands to the sky*
