Absolutely no idea what our level of interest is for '27 Martay Barnes but it's just not that often that we get full box score info so I'm going to post it especially since he had a very nice stat line.

Guess our interest was pretty high.

Listed as a 6'2"  4-star SG he attends the Academy of Central Florida in Orlando and plays AAU for Southeast Elite on the 3SSB circuit.  Prior to last season, he attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy in Melbourne, FL.

South Carolina offered on the 15th:  Barnes is thin, but explosive, and can light up both ends of the court. He can attack with confidence and knows how to create offensive plays in the halfcourt. On the other side of the ball, he is active and tough, playing with an edge that gives him two-way star power and potential as he continues to develop.  He is the  is the younger brother of former South Carolina running back powerhouse Rocket Sanders.

 

From the Kansas Jayhawk site on SI.com who offered on the 15th:  

Explosive downhill and nearly unstoppable in transition with blazing straight-line speed, Barnes is a nightmare for opposing defenses when he attacks the basket. Possessing a variety of finishes in his bag, Barnes can unleash a floater, get to a reverse, or simply go off two, create contact with the defender, and finish through him. 

With a respectable midrange and long-distance jumper, Barnes keeps defenses honest as a shooter and is a top-notch facilitator and table-setter. Although he’s listed as a 6-foot-2 combo guard, he certainly has the tools to slide into a lead guard role at the next level.
