Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Anticipate a blowout win for our Hoosiers. Last year Brown's record was 16-11 FWIW. We know Fenn is out for the year but will we see our other walking wounded, i.e., Bargesser, Beaumont and Parrish? Radio Live Stats mamasa and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 4, 2024 Author Posted November 4, 2024 Reports are Lenee Beaumont currently on the floor testing her left knee out, she's got a brace on and white sleeve over that, working with assistant coach Ali Patberg. Stuhoo and Hoosierfan1901 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Suffocating defense by IU in the 1st quarter. 15-5 IU. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 18-7 Hoosier lead after 1. 7 different IU women have scored. 14-7 rebounding edge and as Stu noted, defense limited Brown to 3-16 FG. Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Meister looks so smooth. What a beautiful shooting stroke Quote

What a beautiful shooting stroke That's a tribute to our staff and her work in the off-season. I watched a lot of her high school games and because of her height she rarely ever played away from the basket. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Shay C seems like an awesome player but she isn’t Sarah Scalia. I miss watching her play. We look a bit rough overall. I think the 3 point shooting will improve but an overall sloppy 1st half. Moren is going to have to work. Lots of good players. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Stuhoo 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 39-21 Halftime lead. Pts: Parrish 9; Striplin 7; Garzon 6 48% FG 23% on 3s Brown: 29% FG 21% on 3s Reb: Parrish 7 22-15 rebounding edge. Every player in the game thus far has scored and every player but Sandvik has at least 1 rebound. Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners She’s a whole lot chippier than Scalia and doesn’t have that hair trigger super outside stroke. Feels a lot like watching the Purdoo men. Offense is a lot tougher when no one draws a double team. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Certainly didn't bring our A game tonight and Brown keeps hanging around but we hold a 60-44 lead after 3. Pts: Striplin 17; Parrish 12; Meister 11; Garzon 9 Reb: Parrish 8; Striplin 5; Meister 4 30-19 advantage Quote
TTT Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 2024-25 version of IU Ladies is to watch team overcome some injury issues and enjoy how much this particular team can grow and develop. J34 and Stuhoo 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 4 players now with double digit scoring and Parrish just got a double-double with 18 pts and 10 reb. 70-49 with 6:42 left. Looking ahead, Bargesser on crutches is very worrisome as is concern for Beamont and is her injury just a game or two blip or something that’s going to be a season long issue and impact her availability. Thursday night we host Harvard who is hosting UMass tonight and leads 21-15 midway through the 2nd Q. Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Of note: nothing against LaMendola or Sandvik, but we’re missing two of our three best bench players tonight. As good as Meister and Striplin have been, Scalia is a more noticeable missing piece tonight. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Final score 82-60. Pts: Parrish 20; Striplin 17; Garzon 16; Meister 13 51% FG 25% on 3s 85% FT Reb: Parrish 10; Meister 6; Striplin 5 40-26 advantage Asst: Chloe 5; Shay 4; Garzon 3 20 assists on 30 made field goals. We had 11 steals and Brown had 18 TOs. We had 18 TOs. Stuhoo 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 This team needs to lean on CMM, Parrish, and Garzon.I’m confident Shay will be better. Can’t be much worse. She knew it. I think she’ll be fine. Definitely gonna miss Scalia and Holmes, but we should be solid. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Stuhoo 1 Quote
TTT Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Scalia was great especially her last year. However, I remember it was not always easy her first year including some shooting inconsistency especially at the beginning. Quote

It didn't look like typical Teri Moren basketball. I was chalking it up to the new roster but I think she is right. Especially with the careless turnovers. Stuhoo 1 Quote
