Interesting... not sure how this will really workout, and what effect it will have on the bogus NIL situation, but maybe it's a start.

Am I reading that right, the Universities will pay these athletes and not from this free for all booster pool that’s been going on?  I thought it should have always been that way and not the current way it’s being done now.   I also like the cap and if I am understanding it correctly, the university will decide how to split the money and people like the Simon’s and Cooks can’t just donate $6-7 million to just the basketball program, it’s all programs!  Am I understanding it correctly?

That's how I read it... There was a reference to "legitimate endorsement compensation"... no more "pay for play"... but seems like there are still a lot of unanswered questions at this point.

This won’t slow the “free for all” aspect at all…..as in zero slowdown.

The schools will dole out a percentage of the revenues, as outlined in the article,  to the athletes plus the players will continue to have access to NIL money which now has to be for “legitimate endorsement compensation”.  LOL. Who is going to enforce that and/or define what is legitimate endorsement compensation? The toothless NCAA?  That’s a laugh.

If Cuban says, just to use him as an example, that Gallo’s endorsement of one of his companies is worth 100k of publicity is the NCAA going to dispute that and/or go to court? 

Regarding a “cap”………. it will take approximately 12 seconds for any cap to be violated by Kansas, UK, UNC, Duke and 90% of the SEC. 

I wish they would work on 2 year agreements, or something along those lines, as it is ridiculous that the rosters are far more fluid than the NBA.

Yeah the "cap" idea is a joke. It will just go back to the way it was before with  schools paying under the table. At least now IU has a much better chance of landing the top available talent. 

But I'm with you on the agreements. I hope multi-year contracts can be structured as such.

I think contracts or agreements is the best way to go, whether they are 1, 2 or 3 year agreements/contracts.  
 

Today’s college rosters are a definite revolving door, lol
