In the video, it appears the kid plays with some emotion and swagger.  I like that.

Montonati is the 6A state champion in OK high school basketball with a 57-53 OT win over Edmund North who had won the last 2 state championships.  He finished with 34 pts. and 5 reb.  He shot 6-of-15 from 3-point range and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe.

Jalen's coach at Owasso HS is his father, Brian, who played college ball for Eddie Sutton at OK State.

Jalen Montonati, SF, No. 11- There were some times where the 6-foot-7 wing from Oklahoma had some troubles finding driving lanes and getting better creating space for his shot will be a focus moving forward. But and this is a big but, he remains one of the truly elite shooters in the class and has a gorgeous jumper with deep range that he can get off in a hurry. That jumper is why he's a priority for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to keep home while others like Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas and many more are giving chase.

I'd like to see the staff stay on this one. He's gonna be more than just a catch and shoot guy. The athleticism looks like its gonna come and there's some pre-Montverde McNeeley to him.

I like this kid…..nice energy and he can score inside and from range….kid took his trip on his own dime to come on an unofficial…let’s hope woody doesn’t let this one slip through. Anyone have rumors on this one?
