The Indiana Elite (3SSB) team will participate in an event this weekend at the Pacers Athletic Center.  Braylon Mullins' dad posted the team's weekend schedule for those who might want to attend.  I'm in no way certain, but the George Hill All-Indy team may include Azavier Robinson.

Travis Branham on last night's EYBL action.

Trey McKenney and Darius Acuff make a mean one-two punch.  The Family boast two of the top guards in the 2025 class between Trey McKenney (No. 17 overall) and Darius Acuff (No. 4 overall) and the two showed their star power on Friday night against Team CP3.

The duo did a good job of sharing the ball and the scoring load, when one wasn't scoring the other was.

McKenney used his big body and skillset to score off the dribble, finish at the rim and also showed his ability to make shots off the bounce.

His partner, Acuff, was dynamic with the ball per usual, creating any time he wanted whether for himself or for others.

Thanks for sharing! Didn't see this until now, when there were picks on Twitter from the first game. I'm going to get up there for the Sunday afternoon game.

Trevor Andershock - What an avalanche of scoring by Darius Acuff and Trey McKenney to give @TheFamily_bball a win over Team United. The duo scored 17 points in the final 2:50 as The Family won 80-69.

Saturday's EYBL event in Memphis from Brandon Jenkins.

Darius Acuff, the top-five junior has easily been the best performing guard on the circuit. He has been an impossible match for any defender guarding him.

At 6-foot-3, he is strong with the ball, elite at changing speeds, and has shown excellent touch scoring the ball from all areas on the floor. Whether left open or being tightly guarded, his jumper has been falling and while he may not be the quickest, he has a knack for breaking down a defense to get wherever he needs to on the floor.

His production comes across as effortless as he has been generating offense with ease throughout his first two days. On the recruiting front, Acuff is fresh off a Kansas official visit and he told 247Sports he has another official scheduled with John Calipari and Arkansas for May 10th-12th.

Top-25 junior Darius Adams caught fire when watching him perform this afternoon. He posed himself as a true specialist knocking down six threes in PSA Cardinals victory over Strive For Greatness. Adams played with great confidence and was in rhythm on his stationery and movement threes. His upside is in the development of his body as he already has a game that translates well given his shooting prowess.

Travis Branham on Saturday's EYBL event.

Jalen Haralson leads team on big comeback but falls short.  Jalen Haralson and his Indy Heat team took on the Houston Hoops on Saturday and they got out to a slow and ugly start, to say the least.

After finding themselves down big, Haralson flipped a switch and took over the game on both ends of the floor, staying in attack mode. It was a turning point in the game when Haralson decided to get aggressive and they found themselves storming back and ultimately sending the game into two overtimes. Haralson was dominant attacking off the dribble and also showed some good things defensively.

Although they lost by one, Haralson finished with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists.

His teammate, Brady Koehler, is currently unranked but is one to keep a close eye on in the month of May.

He's every bit of 6-foot-8 with long arms, a very immature frame and a smooth jumper from three. He hit some huge shots for his team and even showed the ability to connect on one- and two-dribble pull-ups.

Koehler is starting to pick up high major offers and those will really pick up when they get on the road.

Koehler finished with 27 points, hitting four threes.

Selected player stats from this weekend's EYBL event in Memphis and several things I need to point out.  Although I recorded their stats on my spreadsheet, I have not included players with offers where there's been no evidence of any ongoing recruiting activity so the names below are purely subjective on my part.  Secondly, for some reason, the 17U schedule only played 3 games whereas the 16U and 15U played 5.  The stats that appear below are from the posted box scores.  In many instances, it was clear that the scorekeeper(s) did not keep track of turnovers, steals and blocks and that's why you'll see a lot of blanks in those fields.  Throughout the weekend, @TheCircuit tweeted player stats but I found numerous instances where those tweets did not match what appeared on the box score.  Finally, I did record stats for some players where there's been evidence of IU interest but no formal offer extended.  If there's a name you're particularly interested in, let me know and I'll be happy to relay those stats to you.

May 17-19 is an Evaluation Period where coaching staffs can attend in person.  Who we watch at that time will be the best indicator of which players we're most interested in and which players are likely to receive an offer if they haven't one already.

Jamie Shaw with some commentary on 3 IU offers from this weekend's UAA event.

On3 MVP: 4-star PG Chance Mallory (2025)

Each time that Chance Mallory took the court he made plays. The compactly built lead guard plays with the utmost confidence on each possession. He has a strong handle that gets him to his spots and the 5-foot-10 Mallory carries range that extends out to 35-plus feet. In the games I watched during this event, Mallory displayed an understanding of when to score and when to distribute. Good things seemed to happen when he had the ball in his hands and initiated the offense. Mallory is also a uniquely good rebounder for his position.    [As president of the Chance Mallory Fan Club I highly endorse this message.]

4-star C Kai Rogers (2025)

There is something about a big man who plays big. Kai Rogers plays very big. The 6-foot-11 center has lengthy arms with broad shoulders and projectability. Rogers did well walling up around the basket and rebounding to end possessions. Rogers was consistently a lob threat around the basket, catching numerous alley-oops in traffic. He distributed the ball well and did some intriguing things when his Wisconsin Playground team went five out. He produces and he is someone who seems to be on a consistent upward trajectory.

4-star SG Jordan Scott (2025)

Jordan Scott has a great frame, very intriguing as you project moving forward. He plays an efficient game that can be quiet at times, but is always ready when his number is called. Scott is listed at 6-foot-6 and he carries a plus wing span. He has a smooth jump shot that he steps into with confidence. He is good within two or three dribbles, getting to his spots, or moving the ball around. Scott also showed some ability to post his man and create an advantage. He played somewhat passively at times and will need to continue developing the handle, but showed high basketball IQ and an ability to rebound at his position.

Rob Cassidy on the EYBL event.

DO IT ALL: Maleek Thomas

Everyone loves a long, hyper-athletic point guard and Thomas is just that. He possesses the length, athleticism and passing ability to impact games even when he isn’t posting gaudy point totals, so when he’s scoring at will as he was on Saturday afternoon, he becomes one of the most dynamic prospects in the class.

Thomas racked up 20 points and nine rebounds, and a number of crafty assists in his New Heights Lightning team’s win over the NY Rens on Saturday. He displayed a type of vocal leadership that’s rare in such young prospects, constantly motivating and coaching his teammates. Watching Thomas operate is an absolute joy on most occasions, as he’s as spirited and confident as he is effective.

Recruitment: Thomas is seriously considering programs such as Auburn, Pitt, Arkansas, Penn State, UConn and Indiana.

IMPROVED EFFICIENCY: Darius Acuff

Efficiency isn’t usually the first word that comes to mind while watching the volume-scouring Acuff, but a Saturday afternoon game saw the five-star shoot roughly 80 percent from the floor en route to an 18-point performance for The Family against Team CP3. Everyone has long known that Acuff is a true three-level scorer capable of posting gaudy point totals and taking over games, but his battle has been with shot selection.

On Friday, he showed some poise and discretion while still making a massive impact in the scoring column through pull-up jumpers and crafty finishes at the rack, which was encouraging for a prospect that can be reckless when it comes to chucking shots at times. Acuff is one of the most explosive scorers in the 2025 class and could improve his stock even more if he continues to play within the offense and take smart shots as he did Saturday.

Recruitment: Michigan, Kansas and Arkansas feel like the three main players to land Acuff. He recently visited the Jayhawks, has been in close contact with the new Wolverines staff and plans to take an official visit to Arkansas on May 10.

Acuff’s an interesting case. He has stretches in games where he can get literally anything he wants and when he’s making shots he’s the best kid on the floor against pretty much anyone. But you’ve got to figure out how coachable he is. It was clear watching IMG that there were guys who didn’t like playing with him. Khani Rooths didn’t even bother to try to hide it. And the game I saw live in Indy he got so emotionally sideways in the 3rd qtr that they sat him for a long time in an elimination game they were losing. So is there just some immaturity and maybe a bit of selfishness going on or is there more to it? If you’re gonna sign that kid and give him the keys you better know.

3SSB is really pi$$ing me off this year given how many IU priority targets are playing that circuit. Whereas EYBL offers perfectly fine free streams on their site, 3SSB is affiliated with BallerTV and you have to buy a $25 day pass to watch. Not even a 3 day event pass. A day pass. With no idea if their streams are even any good. Nah.
