IUMBB -- All-time Bob Knight team

Recommended Posts

Saw this on another social media site -- thought it was intriguing. Who's your starting five of IU players who were coached by RMK?

Here's mine

Isiah Thomas
Calbert Cheaney
Kent Benson
Scott May
Steve Alford

Really, really tough to leave Buckner off this list. But really only need one point guard and while I'm not necessarily a big fan of Isiah the person, I think he was better than Quinn.

Who ya got?

Coach Bobby Knight | Bobby knight, Bob knight, Indiana hoosiers basketball

The Bird, if Larry the Legend had stayed at IU.

I'm not that young, but since I only know the 70's players by reputation, I'm going only  on those I actually watched in college. So without giving it much thought the 5 best players (more or less by position) are:

Isiah, Alford, Cheaney, Henderson, Zeller Garret

So many studs that could be named, but one Honorable mention often overlooked due to his team's being average is AJ Guyton. Dude was freaking scoring machine.

Zeller didn't play for Knight.

Ha! Excellent point. I edited it. Not a lot of great Centers in the 80's-90's, unless I'm forgetting someone? Turner, Blab, Anderson, Nover....

BTW...If you have to say their last name they shouldn't qualify.

2nd team:

  • Henderson
  • Wittman
  • Woodson
  • Buckner
  • Downing

Benny is not his first name but nickname from his last name. Kent
