Seems like not just IU Ladies teammates but but it goes for all teams;  these girls congratulate and support one another in transfer portal when they find new home. Maybe, boyfriends or just want to be closer to home.

(Parrish was influenced by wanting to be closer to home).

T. Moren referred to Caffey as could be one of the best guards ever at IU emphasis on defense in each game.  Maybe, she wasn’t that enthusiastic about all the defensive expectations and let’s go play for Missouri.  That sounds like a good idea.  T. Moren does another great job of coaching a player up and taking care of her on the court like a farm club for another future school.

Will be interesting to see how undeveloped she becomes at Missouri….not as nice as her ex teammates.

Do you think they paid her $500,000+?

Unless there was boyfriend involved or she wanted to be in Missouri though Missouri is hitting on some players I doubt Missouri was able to pay more than IU unless it was like 25 bucks to close the deal.
(Cunningham/Fever played for the Tigers).

Per AI.  Missouri NIL budget 31.7 million in 2025 across board for all sports.

and doubled NIL for Ladies basketball.

According to Grok, Missouri women's basketball has a total of $648,000 in NIL + they share $1-2 m. in revenue sharing with ALL other women's sports. So, the total budget for women's basketball players looks like $1.5 m. ish at most. They have Grace Slaughter and a bunch of other decent players, so it seems HIGHLY unlikely that they would pay Caffey $500,000.

Theory: Caffey painted herself into a corner with excessive demand, and going to Missouri was the best she could do to save face. She was not all-Big 10, or even all-Big 10 freshman team. No way a highly competitive program like UConn or LSU or TCU would have been interested. She needs space to develop more. Unfortunate outcome.

Caffey could have withdrawn name and stayed at IU.  Not sure how NIL could adjust as yes she can come back but can IU in this case reduced NIL? Crazy.  What coach could have gotten more out of her talent level?

Missouri got Mathurin from Michigan as well
