Strange how the season's start dates vary from state to state.  Koupal's first game of the 23-24 season was Friday and it opened with a 58-44 win.  She finished with 35p; 12r; 6b.  Her sister Macy, a senior, is also on the team and she too recorded a double double.

12/29 Wagner defeated Avon 51-38.  In this game Ashlyn scored her 1,000th point and she's just a sophomore.  Likely started playing varsity level in 8th grade but that's just a wild assumption on my part.  And it doesn't matter if she did.  1,000 points is 1,000 points and that's a big deal.

Named to South Dakota Class A First Team:  Koupal, a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard/forward, is making her second straight Class A all-state first team. She averaged 21.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and four assists per game this season, while swatting 96 shots. She has already garnered scholarship offers from multiple major Division I college basketball programs. She has already scored more than 1,000 career points.

WAGNER — Ashlyn Koupal dropped a quadruple-double as Wagner secured a spot in the Class A SoDak 16 Thursday.

Koupal tallied 19 points, 19 rebounds, 11 blocks, 10 assists, and three steals.
