Second game I've watched and I'm the farthest thing from a talent evaluator but I just can't see Alston as a top 100 ranked kid.  Last night Kenwood beat Phillips 52-48 in a pretty sloppy game.  Alston 5p; 3r; 1a; 1s.   Virtually non-existent in the 1st half and sat out the first 4 min. of the 2nd Q.  Don't know why because he didn't have any fouls.  Seems to be an afterthought in the Kenwood offense as the ball rarely gets passed to him.

Probably shouldn't worry too much since we're still on page 1 of his thread that opened last April.  Pretty clear evidence he's not a high priority target.

Sat. 82-70 win over Mt. Carmel.  20p;  7r;  3a;  0s;  1b;  1t          7-12 FG;  3-6 on 3s; 3-3 FT.

Kenwood is 14-6 on the season but I've only found 11 games with limited stats:  11.2p;  6.5r;  3.4a

MaxPreps only has 7 games with full stats:  11.0p;  6.1r;  3.0a;  .4s;  1.4b;    48% FG;   43% on 3s;  87% FT.

Still pretty vague as to what's going on in Illinois with Kenwood Academy and IU target Aleks Alston.  News broke yesterday about some kind of issue with the IHSA and tonight Alston, Kenwood head coach Mike Irvin and 3 other seniors are not in attendance for a Kenwood vs Morton state playoff game.

Haven't seen anything further on why Kenwood's coach and multiple players including Alston were suspended for the remainder of the season.  Seems more than odd to me that the whole thing surfaced on the eve of the start to the boys state tournament but it is Chicago.

“I do not approve of your methods.”  “Yeah? Well you’re not from Chicago.”

So since his season is over, here are his MaxPreps stats for his 23-24 season comprising 29-games.

13.1p;  8.3r; 4.7a;  .9s;  .8b;  2.1t            48% FG;  43% on 3s;  80% FT.

Apparently falsified that the kids lived in the district to attend the school. By Chicago standards that seems almost quaint. Imagine Alston will be at a prep school next year.
