With five straight winning weekends entering the fourth weekend of Big Ten play, the Indiana baseball program will travel to Illinois for a three-game series at Illinois Field. The series kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on Friday (April 14) on the Big Ten Network.

The first two games of the series will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network, as Indiana (23-10, 7-2 B1G) and Illinois (14-15, 3-6 B1G) were two of the preseason contenders for the Big Ten. The Hoosiers won a 16-13 decision over Ball State in a midweek contest and enter the weekend on a three-game winning streak. Illinois dropped a series at Northwestern last weekend, before a 16-5 midweek win at Illinois State.

Just an FYI: Illinois throws their pitchers worst to best on a weekend. The Friday guy in Riley Gowens is a guy IU has faced three times before and torched him for 13 runs in 13 innings and chased him by the fifth inning every time. He has also had exactly one good start this season against anyone.

This is probably why Mercer flipped Manase to Friday and is going all out to win the first two and make Sunday a "house money" game given Illinois throws their best guy always in series finales.

If 2 of Leavy, Bothwell, Hayden freaking step up we are so solid!!!

Good call on the pitching thing. I was looking at #s today and found that interesting.

The weather seems like it will play a factor this weekend. I'm not so sure they shouldn't play a DHer tomorrow. We went ahead and went over to Champaign already today.. would we 100% do that if we were only playing until 8CST tomorrow?

Maybe we are preparing for DHer tomorrow?. 3pm start or something. Who knows

Saturday would be the day for a doubleheader. Play an afternoon game Saturday followed by the regularly scheduled Saturday game at 5 central. Rain is not until late in the evening Saturday and you have to do everything you can to play at the original time Friday and Saturday night so you don't lose the BTN telecast.

The reason I said Friday DH... accuweather was acting like the rain would be here by like 7pm/8pm on Saturday, they've since pushed that back.

I would just about guarantee a Sat DH. Crazy wind gusts Sunday, too.

Do you think Sinnard would throw the first game Sat or 2nd?
