San Antonio advances to the Texas state championship game with a last second 49-48 win over Coppell.  I scored Roberson with 21p; 6r; 1a; 0s; 2b; 0t.  She's listed as 6'4" and clearly altered a lot of Coppell's shots in the paint.  She's very slender and although she's reportedly a very good volleyball player she really didn't exhibit much jumping ability.  This is the only game I've seen her play this season so you have to take that opinion with a grain of salt.

Roberson's team won the Texas 6A state championship and she was named MVP of the title game a 42-37 win over DeSoto.  She had 24p; 15r; 3s; 4b in the game.

San Antonio Express News -

Rooted from its playoff loss last year, Clark played with confidence and poise to beat DeSoto, 42-37, in the UIL state Class 6A championship Saturday night in the Alamodome.

The Cougars (34-3) avenged their state semifinal final defeat against the Eagles last year. In addition, they halted DeSoto’s two-year reign as state champion.

Arianna Roberson, Clark’s 6-foot-4 junior center, was named game MVP after recording 24 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks and three steals.

“Last year, unfortunately, we didn’t get that championship and bring it home for San Antonio,” Roberson said. “We wanted our revenge, and that’s what we got. We used it as a stepping stone and a boost because we’ve been here before, but we needed to go the extra mile and bring the chip home and rep our city.”

Clark earned a chance to win it all Friday on junior guard Natalie Huff’s 3-pointer with one second remaining lifted the Cougars past a stunned Coppell squad, 49-48, in the state semifinals.

“I’m so proud of them with the poise that they played with these past two games,” Clark coach Rihana Houy said. “They stayed focused. They didn’t get rattled. They worked together. They fought, and more importantly, they bought a championship to San Antonio, and we’re really happy about that.”

The Cougars played before an enthusiastic crowd and after the getting their gold medals and championship trophy, they rushed to the stands to celebrate with their fans.

“For us to be able to play (DeSoto) in the state championship after losing to them last year, and finally get them and bring it back to San Antonio (was great),” Huff said. “We had all our fans in the stands. They were behind us from the very beginning, and they meant a lot to us and helped us bring this home.”

This one would make for a much better feel for the other taller girls forwards/centers coming in.  In addition with other girls being recruited including tall guards….A high level 5’10” or shorter physical type guard would be good.
