Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 We are struggling in too many facets tonight. Miserable 3-point shooting, terrible rebounding and very mediocre FT shooting. Nebraska 57-48 with 7 min. left. Quote
mamasa Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Just a different feel to the team tonight Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 We worked so hard to get that lead down to 4, then just go cold. Now, it's back up to 11. I think this one's over. We just can't score. Missing FTs, 3-pointers and point-blank layups -- the whole gamut. mamasa 1 Quote

Hoosierfan1901 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Michigan is sure happy about this one mamasa 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Really missed Mackenzie's presence in that first half when Nebraska totally dominated the boards and got so many offensive rebounds. I like to think we could have slowed the Huskers down early and changed the entire tone of the game. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Have to re-group for Thursday's game at home vs. Northwestern and then the Iowa, Iowa, Maryland gauntlet to wind up the regular season. Quote
Hoosierfan1901 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 This one is over, we need Holmes back Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 This game has just become a mess. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Gulbe is 4-16. Nicole CH is 4-17. Yikes -- that's a lotta missed shots. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Nebraska wins 72-55. An ugly loss. Grace Berger the only bright spot with 20 pts. on 9-15 FG. Rest of the team 14-57. 2-22 on 3s; 7-13 FT; just 4 assists on 23 FG. HoosierAloha 1 Quote
Aaron Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Teams Big Ten Title hopes are in trouble with the way everyone's schedule sets up. Iowa is done pretty much but Maryland, Michigan or Ohio State is in excellent position to overtake IU now. If the Hoosiers can somehow win out they guarantee the title. The problem though is if Maryland does not beat Ohio State and Michigan in their next two games then Buckeyes or Wolverines are likely to win out and take the title from IU if the Hoosiers lose even once. If Maryland beats both of them, IU can afford to split with Iowa, but would have to beat the Terps or they would be Big Ten Champions over IU. It is almost impossible for IU to win the title without going 3-1 without one of the wins being Maryland or 4-0 if Maryland trips up to either OSU or Mich. I don't trust Iowa at all (or any team like them that plays no defense) regardless of how good Caitlyn Clark is, and OSU is less talented than the other top teams, but Michigan and Maryland are scary good and one of them could easily take the Big Ten from IU if they don't win three out of their last four at minimum. This is a tough stretch without Holmes. I can't see a win at Maryland without her and Iowa away is going to be tough. Quote

I know I am dreaming but it would be nice to see her back for Northwestern to get back in the flow before the Iowa/Iowa/Maryland stretch. Aaron 1 Quote
