#CrystalBall pick for '21 F Kiandra Browne to UCLA is wrong!  Browne has committed to the Indiana Hoosiers! Nice pick-up by IU.

From women's recruiting guru Raoul:  Kiandra Browne, 6-1 F, Winston Salem Christian School (NC), originally from Pointe Claire, Quebec, has announced her commitment to Indiana WBB; she was ranked in the top 75 in the 2021 recruiting class, but she is reclassifying to 2020

From Hoosier Sports Report:

Indiana women’s basketball is getting a late add to its 2020 class in forward Kiandra Browne.  Browne, listed as a 6-foot-1, four-star prospect by ESPN, was originally scheduled to be a part of the 2021 class but has decided to reclassify to attend IU this coming year. She has most recently played for Winston-Salem Christian in North Carolina, but she hails from Canada and has played with the country’s U-18 squad.

Projecting as a true four, ESPN’s most recent evaluation of Browne, the site’s No. 75 prospect for 2021, reads:

“Physical, efficient interior prospect with high motor effort; soft touch, footwork yields results in the paint, visits to the charity stripe; work horse on the glass, mobile in transition game.”

Hailing from Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Browne has also played center for St-Laurent Express Basketball. In January, she was one of three Winston-Salem Christian athletes nominated for a McDonald’s All-American Games showcase event in Houston.

Browne will be the third addition to IU’s roster this offseason, joining 6-foot guard Chloe Moore-McNeil as part of the 2020 class. IU only graduated Brenna Wise from last year’s roster, but the departures of Jorie Allen, Shaila Beeler, and Bendu Yeaney to transfer did leave Teri Moren with open spots to fill.

Along with Moore-McNeil and Browne, the Hoosiers have added George Mason transfer and junior guard Nicole Cardano-Hillary.

Per forum post from Jeremy Price-

I’ll have a full story tomorrow, but I spoke with Kiandra today and she said she’s 6-1, maybe 6-2 on a good day. She also plans to redshirt this year.

This is huge. She wasn't going to play this year, anyway. We're too deep.

Heckuva player willing to give up her SR of HS to practice for a year.

Part of her decision relates to health insurance; something she wouldn't have if she returned to high school in Winston-Salem and being a Canadian.  Haven't been able to find it, but that was something I read after her announcement as to why she's enrolling at IU now.   Might be a better explanation when Jeremy Price releases his story.
