Hopefully his team can continue this momentum throughout the end of the season and end strong, unlike last years team that started out strong and choked down the stretch. 

You never know what can happen if this team makes it to the Big Ten Tournament.

Austin Render  --  After yesterday's action, featuring an Indiana win, the Hoosiers are now inside the top 8, currently in solo 7th, ahead of Purdue on win %. Two weeks to go, and the Hoosiers control their own destiny.

IU has last place Minnesota coming to town this weekend and then 3rd place Iowa on the road the following weekend.

I believe PSU has a game today vs. MSU. Could make up a half game on them, today.

Ughh... PSU won in extras. MSU blew that game multiple times. We are two back of 6th place. MSU is two back of us now, though.

Hoosiers dropped last night's game vs Louisville by a score of 7-2.  We had 7 hits but left 8 on base.  We used 5 pitchers who collectively gave up 8 hits and 6 BB.  We committed 2 errors that led to  2 of Louisville's 7 runs.  Back to Bloomington this weekend to host Minnesota.

From Dustin Dopirak:  Indiana heads into the final weekend series, which begins Thursday at Iowa, with a two-game cushion on a Big Ten tournament berth. Northwestern has the head-to-head tiebreaker with IU, but IU has it over Nebraska.

Good question since we took 2 of 3 from them in Ann Arbor.  Maybe whoever put the list together used overall records when B1G records were tied.  That is a consistency in the 4 ties.

Yup. The standings are put an random when tied. Don't use it for tiebreakers. First tiebreaker is head-to-head results and IU beat Michigan so they win  any two-way tiebreaker with Wolverines.

Another comeback win last night 12-7 over Illinois State.   ISU led 7-5 after 7 complete but our Hoosiers scored 7 in the 8th which included a Matthew Ellis grand slam who finished the night with 6 RBIs.  We got 9 hits off ISU pitching whereas they got 15 off our staff, 6 of which they got off Jack Walker in his 2 innings on the mound.   Regular season wraps up this weekend in Iowa City.

@Aaron with the 20 round draft--- do you think teams will be taking more and more guys that say they'll sign a contract, compared to "taking a chance, drafting them, then convincing them to sign"? 

Basically what I'm getting at is... in a normal year, I don't think Whalen or--- not sure who else--- would go in the top 20 rounds, but maybe he will now, if guarantees he will sign if he's drafted. Idk if I made any sense with this question. 

I think if a core of 4 or 5 of the older guys-- Jessee, Whalen, Ellis, Bothwell, Sharp are back, along with the young guys... add a couple of transfer pitchers, we could be very solid next year. 

Stahl and Modugno are absolutely befuddling.

This isn't IU baseball per se, but is sorta IU baseball related. 

Hadn't paid a whole lot of attention to the season this year, but knew today was NCAA selection day. Took a peek at the brackets and didn't see Mississippi State -- with former IU head man Chris Lemonis.

So I looked it up -- they went 26-30 this season (9-21 in the SEC). Wow, quite a tumble from a national championship season.

Their best player, Landon Sims, was hurt all year... I think they had another top arm go down. 

I think Sims will be a first round pick. 

And then, yeah, played poorly.. and they play in the sec. They didnt even make it to Hoover. We were in Starkville last weekend and then they were all still drunk, celebrating the natty from last year. (Emoji) 

 Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, Tex AM, UF, UGA, Ole Miss and Auburn were 8 of their 10 SEC series. BRUTAL. 

Other two weekends being Missouri and Alabama... who are both very solid. 

I will say, their field, Dudy Noble.... one of the coolest sporting events I've been to. Look it up if you aren't familar! 

Tailgating, good food, beer, and baseball. Hard to beat!
