Kevin Boyle didn't jump from Montverde Academy to Spire Academy to coast into retirement.  The EYBL Scholastic is where the big boys play.

Would love to know much it took to move him out of no state income tax, no winter central Florida to northeast Ohio.

Don't know the answer to your question but he is already drawing some top level talent to Spire.

Oh yeah. The guy is one of the great HS coaches ever. They would’ve had to commit giant resources to get him and the rest will take care of itself.

Purdue Luke Ertel carried.

And Steven Reynolds didn't play -- I assume he was injured.  Very heavy Purdue lean.  Ranked 63rd overall and 1st in Indiana by 247.

'26 Jacob Webber from Kearney, NE announced yesterday he was transferring to La Lumiere.  He's not necessarily on the IU radar but Raby used the news to again mention that we have solid connections to La Lu with our current staff and that's not something we've had for far too many recruiting seasons.

Will be an interesting year for LaLu. Holmes has been there a while now and the last couple of years the roster has started to erode. Last year they had Haralson, Adams and Love(meh) and that was it. They were uncompetitive with the better programs. Will be really curious to see what they put together this year.

Last night's Indiana Futures Game the north beat the south 123 - 113.

I couldn't get a decent screen shot of the north squad's stats but '28 Amarian Legget of Blackford HS (Luke Brown anyone?) was the game MVP with 24 pts and 9 reb.

This is the south squad's stat line

Pickleball is a nefarious plot to destroy all that is good in the world.

Per its insidious pickle-ways, it started by slowly but surely suffocating tennis; a sport that no one in their right mind was still playing anyway.

But now? BLAMMO!! It has crept into the sanctity of Indiana high school basketball courts. The sneaky pickle-rat-bastards have clearly gone too far.

Surely it's next steps will be to replace the loyalty of your dog with a pickleracketpaddle (or whatever the hell they're called). Then? The sweet hugs of your mamas will turn into a briny, back-pain inducing, pickle-mess.

Sigh.

You're a bit behind the times. This is from an article dated two years ago: https://www.wane.com/top-stories/goodbye-basketball-hello-pickleball-spiece-fieldhouse-to-make-vast-changes-to-facility/

It must be a big city thing. I have yet to meet a single person who's ever played it.

As a sports fanatic , semi-ex tennis player, and Ace ping pong player it’s devilishly fun game on a pickle ball court. I’ve seen 10 years olds up to 80 year olds playing. It hooks you, if you enjoy Tennis/Ping Pong whatsoever.

'26 Jacob Webber may be on the IU radar.  We watched him last month and was reported we're watching him this week.  Originally from Nebraska but transferring to La Lumiere for the 25-26 season.  There were reports in March he had committed to Nebraska but per Raby, that was an unfounded internet rumor.  Playing AAU for ETG on the 3SSB circuit.

Becoming a pretty common part of the bigger showcase events. Last year the Marshall County Hoopfest, the City of Palm Classic and the Quincy Shootout all had the same deal. Flyin’ to the Hoop probably had some pressure to get in because their event directly overlaps the Spalding Hoophall Classic, which is probably the biggest showcase event in the country, and they may  have had some trouble  drawing the high profile programs.
