BTN on Roku...

Thank you, both!  I'm pretty reliant on my DVR but with the money I may be saying it is probably worth it.

You can do a free trial. I think it was for a week. It is easy to cancel also. Just log into your PlayStation account and cancel. No hassle.

Well I'm close to being sold, I may have to take the plunge when my cable bill goes up next month.

Especially if everything were in HD also, that would be the ultimate selling point.  I don't have HD now unfortunately.

Most likely yes, it is worth it.  So, per your point above, if an IU game is on tonight at 9pm ET and I have it scheduled to record.  I have something come up and can't start watching until 10pm tonight.   Will it be available to watch at 10pm from the beginning?

I found it worked like i thought...did you?

I started my 7 day free trial.  It's going ok, but did notice there was lagging during fast moving things sports such as basketball games, when a player swings the golf club, etc...   This may be due to my wifi so I am curious if anyone else noticed it on their Vue?  Also, I am using a Roku for Vue so there is no guide to use on my Vue as it isn't available for Roku users yet.  I'm sure eventually they will get it added.  Overall, it's not going bad just hard to know where to go not knowing where anything is.  I doubt I will extend with Vue past my trial period until things are enhanced a little more.

I have noticed the lagging during sporting events also on Roku, Amazon Firestick and PS3 and 4. I thought it may be my slow internet but maybe not.

Vue operates the best on the consoles and they are the most user friendly with Roku being a close second. The lack of a guide is the biggest downfall on the Roku. The Firestick has a guide but the response time when you click on stuff is slow. My Firestick is an older model with a single core processor. My Roku has a dual core processor and responds a lot better.

I have no experience with Apple TV or Google Chromecast.

Well looks like I'm taking the plunge.  I've been meaning to cancel Brighthouse anyway since my bill is going up, so switching to the AT&T and Playstation Vue combo looks like the best option.  I'll be using my Playstation 3 instead of the Roku though.

I'm only going to get 6 MBPS, but the guy from AT&T told me that should be plenty of speed to live stream sports.  And even if it isn't I can upgrade to 24 MBPS for $10 more.

Pretty excited about this, I'm glad this thread was started.

Yes, we have multiple devices connected so that may have something to do with my lagging.

Hooked up my Roku with Playstation Vue...I get every channel including BTN for 40 bucks a month....Roku cost 40 each tv...spending what would cost me one months payment of Directv...im the same now but have 100 in pocket every month ..

Thanks again for starting this thread man!

Cut the cord this week and it's my first weekend of AT&T with the Vue combo on my PS3.  It's been such an upgrade and I'm saving a decent amount of money.

The only drawback is that the guide seems to lag a little bit when I'm trying to flip through channels, not sure if that's the Internet speed I'm at (6 mbps) or my controller, but it's not a huge deal.  Definitely an upgrade overall.
