  1. I will be 54 next month, and I don't really recall him. I remember the 1981 faintly because that is the team that I remember watching on Channel 4 in Princeton with my dad. It will take a while for his reputation to recover a bit, but they will welcome him back in a few years and the crowd will cheer when he will be introduced. There will be a lot of people though who will slowly clap and will be muttering how he sucked as a head coach while he was at IU.
  2. One word, Buckner. He is about the only reason Woodson was hired, and he damaged not only his reputation but that of Woodson's also. It is mind boggling how and why he was hired, but I really doubt if the full story and reason will ever be revealed outside of what has already has been hashed out in almost 2k pages already. It was fascinating reading though.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. The only thing "experienced" about the team was maybe the age of the players which has to be what he is referring to. I do believe the age of the team will be the one thing that will help them meld together faster.
  4. I think it has been said before, but it will more than likely appear that Woodson was the hump to get over. LOL
  5. While the free throw lanes are in black like they are at Mackey.
  6. His heart was in the right place to come back, but his brain was yelling, "NO!!". Would love to hear or read the whole story instead of getting pieces from different places.
  7. Funny, but there is a lot wrong in that photo. LOL
  8. Which is big boy basketball recruiting, getting players that fit your system where you can find them. Sisley looks to fit what he does perfectly, and he happens to be down the road from me in Santa Claus. If CDD can just try to get the home grown guys, he will be fine as long as he wins. There were people that wanted Crean out for a while, and they gave him the boot at the first chance they got. Anyway, I am so ready to start the season, but I don't want the cold weather that goes along with it.
  9. I didn't have a problem with Crean outside of his defense schemes and his in-game coaching wasn't exactly the best, but he was wearing thin with a lot of people. Compared to who they got to replace him, the administration probably should've stayed with him for another year or so. With that said, when there are a couple of top recruits in the state, you have to at least go after them or appear to go after them. Romeo not looking at IU probably didn't help his cause although Romeo would've probably done great in his system.
  10. I suspect now that the PR trip is over, and our attention will focused on FB till practice starts. Can't wait to see IUBB in live action in 3 months.
  11. His quotes almost sound like they come out of Rocky 4. It gives us a really good indicator of what they can look like come this November. "We’ve analyzed the first game, and I believe we’ll correct the mistakes we made in the second half. We’ve only recently come together as a team, and these games will be extremely useful as we continue our preseason preparations—though of course, we aim to win every game,"
  12. In the first link, is it me, or does Don have a pretty good set of guns on him? The guy is a legend in more ways than one. I bet Pat was one of the former players the old staff put in the same group as Brian Evans who didn't like what was going on in the last few years. I would love to see the former players enjoying the product on the floor again.
  13. 62 attempts in 2 games?! The last few years, it would take 4 games to get that total, and that might be pushing it. It feels like a breath of fresh air for an INDIANA team to actually shoot 3s.
  14. Meanwhile, she plays this on blast . Sorry, now I bow out on this discussion. I say IU shoots 38% from 3 tomorrow night to bring the thread back to the original content.
  15. The other players and the league are basically trying to punish her when the league has exploded because of her like it or not. I think Mark Davis of the Vegas Raiders fame bought the Vegas Aces for about $2 million 4 years ago and is worth about $310 million now after a championship or 2. A month ago, they added 3 teams at $250 million a piece while the Connecticut Suns have been sold for about $350 million and are moving to Boston I believe. The league hasn't turned a profit since it started, but it is starting to see some money roll in partly due to her and one or 2 others coming in. Fever games moved from smaller arenas to the NBA arenas when they are on the road because of ticket demand. Whether or not they like it, she has brought a lot of attention to the league along with money and their CBA is up at the end of this season or just after it. It will be interesting what happens, but it is nice to know that IU women's team had decent success against her. Now, what will be the 3 point percentage in the next PR game?
  16. https://www.insidethehall.com/2025/08/08/three-observations-from-iu-basketballs-first-exhibition-game-in-puerto-rico/ It can't be true, but they ran off-ball screens to free up shooters? I didn't think it was the coach's job to get guys shots? In all seriousness, it will be nice to watch actual ball movement again.
  17. I just know that if I were to go into a place where an altercation might occur, I want him on my side.
  18. "During a defensive possession in the fourth quarter, the five starters started a ‘defense’ chant sparked by Sisley’s relentless pressure – a true testament as to how the freshman is viewed by his teammates." Sisley will be leading this team next year, my prediction.
  19. I watched last year knowing Woodson was 99% dead man walking as a coach last year, and it felt like it didn't matter. I am ready to watch some meaningful games.
  20. I am so ready to watch this team play.
  21. If he is actually being honest, which I don't think he would otherwise be, and they are playing like they have been together for a while on offense, they should be a pretty good team. As long as they can build a solid foundation this coming year, we will be fine in DDV hands.
  22. The one website had him at 206cm which comes out to about 81" which is 6'9". He might have got that 2 extra inches in about 18 months. Just get some muscle on it to bang underneath, and let's get him ready to give up those 5 fouls and hit the occasional 3.
  23. So let it be written So let it be done - Metallica
  24. ESPN has stated that they will not ask them to change their show, but after a few months, you wonder if they will. Stephen A. Smith will be doing more on Sirius XM starting this Labor Day, but how much will he cut back on ESPN after signing his huge contract and will he show up from time to time on Inside the NBA? I haven't had cable in about 5 years, and I miss being able to watch several different games at night. BUT, I don't miss all the BS ESPN does do.
  25. "We were unable to find alignment on my value to the company." In other words, they wouldn't pay me what I wanted. ESPN is hurting for money, and they aren't going to pay a whole lot for a NBA draft guy who they need just a few months of the year. They talk NFL draft stuff the whole year, and they shed some of that outside of Kiper.
