  1. For me, the "I'm pissed because I've already decided we'll suck next year" takes the cake, lol.
  2. I get it. The program has been mismanaged. There's a lot of things that should have happened that didn't happen. But we can't go back and change it, and these current players and coaches had nothing to do with it. Punishing them for it now just sets us up for more failure down the road.
  3. You make some assumptions, with regard to resources and NIL for example, with no evidence to back it up. I suspect that has led to the inflated expectations that have you so disappointed. Consider this: my son is a sophomore at IU. He has 1 NCAA Tournament win by IU in his entire memory bank. So comparing us to schools like Kentucky, Louisville, and Michigan—for kids who are choosing where to play basketball right now, those comparisons are laughable. Reality makes you a happier, smarter person in the long run.
  4. If fan appetite for a rebuild is zero, maybe it’s time for some fans to walk away. I get the frustration and disappointment. This program, with the exception of maybe 5 seasons, has accomplished nothing since 1992. We all know that. The program has been mismanaged for the better part of 34 years. So, with that reality in place, why would anyone expect a coach to come in, having to replace an entire 13-man roster, and people think he is going to snap his fingers and collect enough talent in one portal haul to be a national contender in Year 1? It makes zero sense. And that is why this fan base is ridiculed nation-wide. That’s why Malik Reneau tweeted what he tweeted. Yes, Curt Cignetti did it here. And now every dumb fan base in America—including ours, apparently—thinks every coach they hire should be able to do it, because Cignetti, I guess, is really nothing special. Reality isn’t going to change just because some folks don’t like it. So, there’s going to be a rebuild, whether there’s an appetite for it or not, no matter who you hire.
  5. That seems strange. He was only 19-15 in his first year there last season, and if this board is to be believed, there’s little hope of getting better from year 1 to year 2.
  6. Tucker DeVries is the career scoring leader among active college basketball players.
  7. What does “I’d say we’ve hit our ceiling with Teri and I think it’s time to move on” mean if not pining for her dismissal?
  8. There are three things for certain: death, taxes, and you’re wasting time and space pining for the firing of Moren. I doubt there’s anybody here who could name more than two players in the history of the women’s program that played in it before Moren took the job, without looking it up.
  9. I'm sure you noticed this, but the metric the tournament committee appeared to rely very, very heavily on last year was Wins Above Bubble. The selections tracked those rankings with the lone exception of Xavier (#49) jumping over West Virginia (#43) and Indiana (#48) to make the tournament. (So, Xavier getting in over West Virginia was the only deviation). With just a few exceptions, the seedings generally tracked the WAB rankings as well. Right now, we have a lot of the season left, and we have some work to do, as we rank #62 in WAB. Of course, there are a ton of opportunities upcoming to improve that.
  10. Didn’t he originally commit to us out of high school?
  11. True. It's also true that Louisville finished #28 in the NET rankings after being #58 on 12/14/24. So, improvement is possible. If we improve even somewhat from our current #26 ranking, I'd think we'll be just fine, even though our competition will certainly be tougher than Louisville's was last year.
  12. Just FYI, the NET is mostly a predictive model. There is a small percentage of result-based metric in it, but it is probably 90% predictive. It will closely match KenPom, especially as KenPom gets rid of its pre-season data.
