IU still has Jackson and Cherry on the roster already getting familiar with the system and being developed by the coaching staff. Plus, they seem to have an eye for talent so the portal is always an option as well if Lewis decides to go to Colorado (definitely possible) or stay with USC (looking more and more unlikely).

Because it was an exhibition game? Win or lose, it doesn't count and the coaches treat it that way. You won't see this win being considered when tournament selection comes around since it was just an exhibition game. Kind of weird and desperate to prove the doubters wrong by thumbing your chest after an exhibition win, but you do you. I disagree that there would have been a meltdown if IU had lost this game. Maybe if they lose to Marian there would be, but not on the road at Tennessee.
