  1. And most recruits, unlike a bunch of fans, see what IU was playing like bf both X and Race went down. And they see the NBA pedigree and connections Woodson brings, and how the players are all for him.
  2. Shouldn’t this game be today, Friday the 13th?
  3. By definition a sprain is a tear but I take it it’s mild not a full tear great to hear
  4. RIP Jeff Beck
  5. Look back through this thread we’ve been posting Polyphia (btw they’re out of Dallas-Fort Worth). Chimera is an awesome tune, fusion of spanish-guitar style with heavy metal and hip hop
  6. PSU - 73 IU - 70 Need. Race. Back. Need. X. to. Recover. Need. a. Beer.
  7. We have, clearly, a top 25 defense, but we're missing X, just as clearly a key part of that, and now Race. That hurts.
  8. Thanks for the further feedback. That just sucks. We're going to need JG, he has a great deal of promise and it's disconcerting that he'd still be as lost as you describe. He's had games where he's played very well, but can't find consistency.
  9. You're really going out of your way here. Malik was, it appears, terrible in 6 minutes. Malik is going to be outstanding. It's interesting to me that someone can be so lost as you describe and have that strong of a box line.
  10. Has to fit in defensively in Woodson's system. I have some issues with Woodson's decision-making, but I haven't seen play from Gunn to justify thinking he should be playing major minutes in B1G level play. We need guys who have the strength and demonstrated ability to play against the better college bigs. On the plus side, Woodson has been talking about shaking up lineups, he's gotten Bates playing more with increased offensive production, and Kopp's game has grown better than I thought it would.
  11. Respectfully, that he's from the state doesn't matter at all. CJ has shown a lot of talent, but he's not playing against B1G level comp for a reason.
  12. That's disconcerting, I'll go back and watch the game on replay. We're going to need JG, I don't see anyone critiquing Malik's game which was, it seems, a lot worse (and I'm a Ren fan, he is going through frosh big development at the B1G level, he'll get there)
  13. I missed the game, maybe a good thing. Having not watched the game I'm just looking at the box score and wondering about your Geronimo comment. From the box, in 19 mins, he was 4-6 and 1-1 for 9 points, 5 rebounds (3 of which were offensive), 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 2 TO's and 3 fouls. That looks like a strong game. Meanwhile Malik had 3 fouls and 2 TO's in 6 minutes. I'm not posting this so people can try to paint me as adoring JG, I'm wondering who can step up with Race out, and am having a hard time seeing that line reflecting this kind of comment on JG's game.
  14. But, but I really want to discuss your wedding calligraphy side hustle
  15. Semi-related, I still remember walking into 7th grade and being told we would never write in cursive again. I was like, what? Why did I have to learn how to do it then?? Lol
  16. And somewhere, a certain once-signed UT player now at IU is liking his move all the more
  17. Was never in doubt. No way UT would stand by with that out there.
  18. This is where I am. Easy W in the Hall, but the team has to show it can play well w/o X on the road, and Iowa will be motivated to play hard. Hoping TJD is healthy, Gallo brings his A game and the team as a whole brings full bore energy the full game.
  19. Yeah, thing is to me we’re basically the same team as last year except for JHS and Malik, and Bates’ growth, minus Stew. Malik is still adjusting to playing B1G level vet bigs (to be expected), take away X and that’s a big blow. Trey has shown real flashes but also is chasing consistency, and Bates, much better - finding his college game offensively, but isn’t yet a creator and better defensively but not fully there yet. Imo Bates, Gallo and JG all need to show well from now on, with Malik continuing to adjust - he’ll get there but imo not realistic right now to expect that to happen over night (love where he’s headed regardless)
  20. Mostly agree, but with some caveats. I would put Xavier in the "upper level teams" category (now 12-3 and a hell of a W against UCONN), that was a strong road W, and saying IU hasn't shown it can compete with the upper level teams on the road glosses over that we were without JHS against AZ (and did still make a run at it in the second) and for that matter @Rutgers. Both JHS and X, imo, are critical to our ability to win against good teams and especially on the road. Losing X for at least most of the season is a real obstacle to our getting to where we expect(ed), Gallo is not a point but is really going to have to step up.
  21. So help me God if we lose to Minny I am blaming you!
  22. Yeah but we suck, so… :)
