  1. Good attitude, nice interview, and good insights. Pulling for him, the potential is there
  2. After listening to his interview, it’s impossible not to get jazzed about the upcoming season and moving forward with Cal. His pay it forward outlook, to go with all that he brings from his IU and basketball history, and now ability to develop players on the court… Special, special player, heart is all in, the skill-development he’ll bring and all with the grow-the-team team-game focus and professional background. His impact is going to be huge.
  3. That his foul rate was going to be bad was clear early on, but there's truth in your comment, plus expected growth as a soph and work on perimeter defense has me thinking we'll see at least decent improvement -- he'll stay on the floor longer
  4. It’s an outstanding deal for his draft spot in the 2d and gives him time to develop into a role on a contending team with excellent management.
  5. P’s made good moves
  6. Not a bad landing spot, kind of weird to see him move with Bryant coming in, don’t think I’ve ever seen one IU former star effectively get replaced by another in the NBA
  7. ESPN reported the Heat signed him as a former Denver Nugget’s “guard” lol
  8. I know these are just sims (not knocking them, the effort you put into them is impressive), but two things I’m hoping to see out of the gate are a good jump in outside shooting to balance our game / spread the floor , and Gallo asserting himself more offensively this season, including from outside as part of that. We should shoot a lot better against these teams, a start like above would be disconcerting
  9. I think it’s awesome he’s practicing at dinner - dedication!
  10. Whoa, don't mess with my fancy pants dinners!
  11. Think he's talking about random high numbers, e.g., 97.
  12. You’ll be complaining to eternity :)
  13. Seems like x could reach out to him, he’s been involved in identifying players for the staff
  14. That’s kinda weird
  15. Man I miss the Davises, they were so key to those Pacers teams
  16. A little pushback. Jokic’s skillset is second to none, best player in the League, Finals MVP, 2-time MVP light years different than TJD and Gordon not athletic? Besides being a former top 5 draft pick, he has had crazy athleticism (his slam dunk comp several yrs ago against Levine was crazy, but he took on a completely different role as a role player when traded from Orlando to Denver — still showed off his shooting and complete floor game in one big Finals game this year. Agree their bball IQ, especially Jokic, is key but that’s also a reflection of why it’s not just height comparisons. Most of these guys have very different games, Bam and Allen — different players. (Capella’s not a bad comp imo). TJD not showing any shooting game coming into the draft held him back, along with being a senior. All that said, TJD to me has the game to flourish on a team like GS, he fell too far in the draft, def a steal and do think he’ll make teams pay. On GS he’ll have the opp to rim protect/block, push the ball and run in transition and get inside buckets with major outside spacing. System, fit and development is so important in the League for whether a player sticks. TJD has a real shot at having a long career there, imo
  17. Read a great story on his background recently and how his manager (who became a close friend) helped him take his unselfish, team-first approach and, against his pushback that he could be an MVP, just focus on the work as opposed to (his manager's push) becoming an MVP. Lost 10, then 20 then 30 pounds, added, to his already exceptional game (including his court vision), an elite physique. He was absolutely unstoppable this year. In my mind he's clearly the best player in the League. And maybe one of the easiest guys to root for.
  18. I'm an idiot. Sincerely, Chris Mannix
  19. General range now at 10-20. The Toronto picks are pretty solid imo unless they want shooting. JHS’s size, strength, and maturity to go with his on-ball skills have moved him into possible lottery, and with the green room invite. Going to enjoy watching him grow his game further in the League
  20. The draft projection I like for TJD is no. 30 (i think it was 30) to the Clips. That would be a good fit, behind Zubac. A number of projections have him going to Indiana, but that just strikes me as saying well it’s Indiana. He combined well, so now is getting projections towards the end of the first. Clips would be a great landing spot. Hope wherever he lands is a good fit with good management— so important in the early years (wouldn’t like Charlotte)
  21. I want to see the dogs drinking your coffee.
  22. Honestly, I can’t see how Trey wouldn’t start. And yeah, so much fun to watch him play
  23. Reality. These are high school kids, and their families, with all kinds of different interests, outlooks, things going on, and all kinds of coaches and others selling their programs. Look up and see an IU plate? Divine intervention:)
