  1. It’s inspiring. I’ve been working in my 6 a.m. game too. Get up, move to pantry (fast break). Grab coffee bin (fast hands). Move to counter (floor vision). Grind coffee. Add to percolater - that’s right @Stuhoo percolater, suck eggs! Fill mug. Sidestep dogs’ effort to trip me on way to chair - lateral movement. Deep knee bend (sit down). Drink. Repeat — practice makes perfect.
  2. I guess it depends on your def of elite guard play. Certainly had it with JHS. This season X will be one of the best B1G guards. I wouldn’t call Gallo elite, but he’s strong on both sides of the ball and his shooting was good this past season. Given current recruiting, chances of landing elite guards going forward looks high
  3. “The environment at Indiana is unmatched.” oh Hell yeah
  4. Yeah, this kid is an outstanding pickup— not just a great looking player (he is), but a great fit kind of funny seeing all the doubt leading into this, just bc it was KU. The decision to forego another visit after IU was a big sign
  5. That’s why I tried to get it back on track, to pizza
  6. Still love Fast Times - when he has pizza delivered to class and prof shares it with the class, classic
  7. Just in fun my friend, no mockery intended
  8. No no you're confusing him with Geronimo. :)
  9. Maybe, we're still early on in this new wacky portal world so time will tell. But the recruiting over has been incoming frosh, not proven vets from other teams. That changes things pretty significantly in my book.
  10. I see both sides of this discussion, but I’m wondering does this actually happen? I can’t say I know for certain but I don’t think so - it wouldn’t sit well with the recruit, and it would signal that’s how this coach rolls, not a good look. Coaches are looking for quick commits whenever possible generally, right? On the other hand, while the portal helps level the playing field across the ncaa, I really don’t like the wild west world we’re now in. Portal over player development. NBA-like free agency. High school recruits competing with talented, experienced players across the ncaa for limited spots. Money buying players everywhere. teams that now can change drastically year to year. Wondering who will stick, wondering what kind of team chemistry you’ll have over time. There are plus sides for sure and it is what it is, but I’ve always really enjoyed watching players develop into serious players, some take longer than others, and that will suffer now.
  11. I was a member on Peegs way back for a bit, it was a toxic cluster F of a forum then. Got old fast.
  12. Honestly just sounds like the kid and his family are going through the full process, taking the visits and then making their decision.
  13. I'm not sure why you're taking offense. Not calling you out in any way, and didn't post any laugh emoji or otherwise say anything about your post. just saying Rabby doesn't have any more info on this recruit's choices than anyone else, and he doesn't. That's not an opinion, it's the situation.
  14. ^^ His family has been and is keeping it close to the vest. Rabby has no more knowledge of what the kid's decision will be be. Click bait.
  15. Well this guy sure is getting the build up and hype. I’m optimistic— the fit is right there, Woodson has a great shot to close this out.
  16. Kind of hard to argue JHS would’ve been in the NBA regardless, clearly hindsight, no real way to say it was a sure thing. Related, though, he may well not have been considered a first rounder had X not gone down. It was that situation that allowed JHS to really show for the scouts, he grew his play into running the team by himself as the primary point while simultaneously being the other primary scorer with TJD. Unlikely without X going down. Also while I don’t agree with the argument he was a sure fire first rounder regardless, it’s not a good comparison to pull up guys like Blackmon etc, or just other similarly ranked guys. JHS is a completely different player, body type, size, etc. He came to IU with an NBA ready body, big, strong, with an exceptional size and strength for a guy who could run point, with an already existing strong p&r game suited to NBA ball, and the program he came out of wasn’t just some high school in IN or elsewhere it’s a program stacked with future NBA level or D1 guys and a track record. JHS is literally built for the NBA. I said that when he came to IU and said then I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one and done. He struggled at times especially early on and had inconsistent showings, great games followed by duds, so I thought maybe he wouldn’t get into that draft position. But he kept it going while becoming the engine driving the team and played himself into a deserved high draft projection.
  17. Driving lessons? I kid I kid :)
