I think that its standard in a contract to have a $10m buyout, but there should be a clause (and I posted something similar to this when Archie was hired) that if the coach misses the tournament the buyout drops if he misses 2 tournaments in a row, buyout drops further, etc. But if lets say in year 3 he goes to the FF, then buyout goes back to standard buyout on contract. You would think Glass would have learned his lessen from the Tom Crean buyout. This also makes me wonder, if Glass hadn't extended Crean in 2013, is Crean fired earlier? do we still get archie and have to fire him? or do we get Shaka or someone else? Either way, do we end up in the same place?

TIn Foil territory here... but hear me out. After swinging and missing on Stevens the fan base is disappointed Dolson then strategically leaks that the top candidate is Mike Woodson. Therefore lowering the expectations from the fan base so that any hire who is not Alford or Woodson is seen as a huge win. Dolson is also purposefully leaking bad info to some to see who is leaking and who he can trust. Praying that Bear, Musselman, Oates, or Porter Moser are picked before a Thad Matta, Dane Fife, Beilien.

Could Dolson be giving out bad info to some to see who leaks and who doesn't? Like that episode of Game of Thrones?

There's a huge difference between Pikel (sp) at Rutgers who played prevent basketball the last 4min against Houston and Beard or Musselmans teams who play to win the whole game.

You don't see our swag in Dicks Sporting goods because Adidas merch doesn't sell. Terrible for IU to stick with Adidas a few years ago.

What did Glass accomplish that literally any other AD in the nation wasn't capable of doing? Please tell me. If you say he built a baseball stadium, I'm saying yes he did and its nice. However, IU's baseball stadium was worse than my High Schools. Any AD that inherited tracy smith would have built a stadium. My argument is what did he do above and beyond that any other AD wasn't capable of?

lol when you're broke and find a penny on the ground you're up 1,000%. haha Kidding aside I think Glass did well with the baseball and football stadium. As a fan of Architecture I think there may have been a better way to handle the assembly hall upgrades. I think if Dolson lands Brad the opinion on Glass changes a bit. The thing I would judge Glass on are his original ideas.. Enhancing facilities was started by Greenspan before so he shouldn't be judged on that. Fred's original ideas: Designing IU's uniforms, the Student Athlete Bill of Rights, extending Tom Crean, Hiring Archie. He seems to fail every time he had an original idea. He has a couple wins, don't get me wrong, but his misses were huge.

You can watch some episodes of "Knight School" on youtube, which is like a bachelor style show for a spot as a walk on at Texas Tech. Chris Beard is in it and really cool. The biggest reason IMO Archie was fired was because his personality didn't connect with the fan base. I think Stevens, Beard, Oates, or Musselman would have the personality to take over at IU and be succesful.

Anyone else watching this OSU ILL game? My buddy and I were discussing the other day how awesome the swag is for OSU and ILL. How they are legit cool programs and cool teams. We started talking about how they were different then IU and one of the biggest things we came up with was the Nike sponsorship. We then started talking about Nike and how when you're 18, you have no money and cool swag is such an important thing in your life. Go on any website and you'll see 30 awesome nike things for a random Nike school and when its the IU section there's like 2 dumpy shirts. I don't believe adidas helps IU sell any merch what so ever and I'm not sure kids are excited about getting free Adidas gear. Go to any open Gym in the US and no kid is wearing adidas. I know Fred Glass designed our most recent uniforms which is why our tops don't match the bottoms and the cuts of our uniforms are so dumpy. IU definitely has a style issue. Does anyone else agree? I'm not against keeping the White home unis, but can we please switch our sponsorship from Adidas to Nike? and can we please add like 3 alternate jerseys with our names on the back?
