  1. What I’ve been saying this whole time is interest in IU is super high, IU is failing miserably at merchandising to capitalize. More sales = more NIL money to buy players
  2. What? He said interest and demand goes up after winning a NC. Based on fan travel to Kansas. And myself in vegas, I’d say demand is pretty high at IU rn
  3. Crean wasn’t able to do the small things like buy a suit that fit him. He’s entirely out of coaching now
  4. Dude Kansas said it was the most visiting well traveled fan base they’ve ever seen
  5. Was speaking to my old roommate. He runs one of the most successful Restaurant chains in Indy….here’s why they are so successful and here’s why they continue to be successful. 1. Gather feedback from patrons consistently 2. Consistently ask employees what needs to be done to improve the restaurants 3. sat in a board room pre Covid and asked the question? What if our business model becomes irrelevant in the future, how would we pivot. Someone mentioned “what if customers don’t want a dining experience or can’t come into the restaurant” so they built out their delivery portion - then Covid hit and they were wildly successful. 4. they pay for executive coaching 5. they write out all of their goals for the year and then write 20 different ways of achieving those goals 6. They constantly ask “what is the experience the customer is having? How do we improve that? What experience are we aiming for? they do a lot more too. My point is I don’t think IU has done anything like this in 20+ years…. There seems to be no leadership… how do I know that? Look at the product
  6. lol not yet, but add that to the "The Admin does not care about the program" narrative.
  7. Explain how its both subjective and how it doesn't compare to my friend?
  8. IU's handling of the small things like uniforms, the shop at Assembly hall, adidas sponsorship et al. are indicative of a systemic failure to hold the program accountable to a championship level standard. Its a narrative that IU doesn't care about being an elite program. It starts at the top and is a slippery slope which gives way for coaches and players to be held at a standard below what is required to win a national championship. When I say we need new uniforms - I'm not saying changing the lettering of Indiana will lead to a championship. What I am saying is Indiana taking small things seriously, like getting uniforms that compete with the other top programs (via cut, design, material, alts, names on back) would create a narrative that we are competitive in today's CBB landscape. It's a growth mindset that all of the other top programs have and we don't. If you want to win at the highest level you have to take EVERYTHING into consideration. You need to be uncommon amongst uncommon people. I knew someone who focused on all the small things leading up to little 5... slept in an oxygen tent every night, read books, you name it. Sounds like most of the people on this board would think that is stupid and is such a small impact etc. Well he won the Lil 500 by being the anchor leg of the race. This stuff matters.
  9. I want more fan gear, more player gear, Nike to sponsor IU. and for IU to take the small things about the program seriously. How can you expect to have an elite program if you can't take care of the small things.... Via the tweet, when compared to Kansas (who just won a national championship), we aren't doing the small things and are not on the same level as them.
  10. I'm not sure I follow your second point. I'm talking about both the uniforms and the sponsors. Our current uniforms are not great, and our sponsorship is doo doo. https://twitter.com/AmandaPavelka3/status/1604678225963139072?s=20&t=OpRLyJkF_7QtkVDySZSSwA Seems like it may be an issue with IU and not adidas based on this tweet?
  11. And it shows your age. No offense, but you're severely disconnected from the reality of this one. If you don't believe me, go into an open gym with kids under 18, and count how much adidas vs nike vs under armor are represented. You'll find 95% nike/Jordan 4% UA and close to 0% Adidas... Kids don't want to wear it. This isn't European soccer... As far as the Jerseys not changing.. You do realize how much R&D and technology has been advanced in even the last 5 years in terms of materials, fit, etc. Alabama may not "Change their jerseys" but the materials have advanced. Nike spent $353Million in R&D last year, I could not find R&D expense listed on Adidas 10K.... Plus you're not accounting the Nike bags, sweats, tanks, hoodies, shoes, socks, shirts, that Nike is providing those athletes. Thats what matters to the kids... I firmly believe your take is wrong here.
  12. Agree with you on New Arena at a minimum we should at least update the student seating... How many more games could IU have won with the student section covering the lower bowl in the last 5-10 years? I'm saying we're not elite because we don't hold the "Program" and "Program meaning all aspects (including uniforms) to the highest standard. If you want to win a championship take a look at all of the best programs of the last 10-15 years. How many of those programs are saying "okay uniforms don't matter", "Practice facility doesn't matter", "We don't need a practice schedule" (which Crean didn't have), "We don't need to update our student section". What was the first thing Michigan football did when they wanted to become elite? Hired Harbaugh, and what was one of the first things after that? The moved from Adidas to JumpMan. Everything matters when the difference between "Elite" and "good" are separated by the smallest things. If you had physical evidence in front of you that said "If we were sponsored by Nike we'd have had Kyrie Irving, or other Elite level guards" would you still be saying uniforms don't matter?
  13. To TheWatShots point... Do you think Disney built the castle, and then went out and got crappy hot dog vendors and said "eh, this is good enough"? No they took a look at EVERYTHING, even the paint in their parks, EVERYTHING is held to a very high standard. Thats why people pay top $ to take their families there. IU Admin is the best at claiming their "Elite" and then cutting every conceivable corner to get there.
  14. I don't think VO staying would have changed much. Crean's ceiling seems to be the S16. And now he's out of coaching entirely. Also heard rumors about Crean making comments about Oladipo's dad and losing the locker room because of it.
  15. Agree... In today's game, you get 4 years as a coach to showcase you're elite or not... I'm not sure what Glass was thinking when he extended Crean. He didn't have a practice schedule. Not sure how many "Elite" Coaches think that is a winning strategy.
  16. So my argument is how you do anything is how you do everything…. IU should take all aspects of the program seriously…. If IU actually ran the swag portion of its program like Ralph Lauren or Aimé Leon Dore and leveraged it to be elite, that implies that they are taking all aspects of its program elite…. It’s like special teams in football, elite teams have great Special teams…. Plus if IU generated $1M more per year in sales, each year that money could be used to get an elite wing, that then could make shots against Kansas.
  17. I’m a younger fan, and you’re not what’s keeping IU relevant. And I t’s that attitude and mindset of “don’t change a thing” which is what’s keeping us back. I firmly believe we’ll never win another championship until IU gets with the times. We are still in the 70’s, everyone else is in 2022…
  18. You’re part of the problem… you’re a fan trying to stay in the 1970’s. Probably yelling at the clouds saying “we should not allow last names on our jerseys”
  19. Poke fun all you want. IU’s fashion and swag are out of touch with elite level programs. That incremental revenue could be used to fund a lot of things, including getting top talent to IU.
  20. If IU was serious about being elite, they would take the opportunity to leverage gear to make $$ and entice recruits to come and play here. IU then takes that money and uses it to fund, NIL, New Practice Facility, you name it.... Also I'm not saying there was a quarter zip and I didn't like it, I'm saying I found 0 quarter zips... Come to NYC and you'll see how quickly IU is out of touch with fashion.
  21. Agree. Virtue signaling this superior morality at the cost of winning anything. My friend worked for the IU foundation and said her team had to actively hide any big donations to the School from McRobbie, he would try to get involved and people would pull their funds.
  22. 1. The cut or "Fit" is out of touch with the current styles. At one point IU was rocking sleeveless style where the current trend was the spaghetti tank 2. The stars on the back just make the uniform look dumpy 3. The Adidas logo breaking up the piping makes the uniform look non symmetrical 4. Why do we have 0 alternate uniforms???? 5. Why do we have 0 collabs? IU Could easily get a collab with Aimé Leon Dore, Noah, or Kidsuper 6. Where's the script Indiana Jersey? 7. What about a throwback Cream colored Jersey? 8. Look at the IU shop, I dare you to find the powder blue quarter zips, or orange shirts the football teams wear?... 9. We talk a lot about IUFB... Wheres the cross-collab LEO jerseys? 10. Why is there no LEO swag available in the shop? I couldn't even fid a shirt. I'd buy a LEO skull cap or bandana... NOPE don't exist outside of the players. 11. Why can't we have a fun Bison Mascot on an alternate uniform and the side of the pants like Kansas and the JayHawk? 12. Does IU not get a portion of sales from IU Adidas merch? I tried to buy a quarter zip on the shop for christmas and couldn't find anything. I checked purdue and they have 9! thats 9 pages of swag with like 6 quarterzips to choose from. 13. I was at the Arizona game and almost all of the swag was from the ancillary shirt companies like homefield, or shirts with the Bison.. Why is IU not capitalizing on that? 14. My buddy played D1 tennis and said that their swag was night an Day to IU's... 15. Even if Nike pays $3m less on a contract.... Don't we receive a portion of the sales... wouldn't 9 pages of Nike IU swag make up the difference there?
  23. Not saying better uniforms beats Kansas today… saying IU taking care of the small things like uniforms is anecdotal to how elite programs are run… fix uniforms and we get better recruits? Maybe 18yr old kids esp those that are under privileged like myself at that age, free SWAG was a huge deal. do you disagree?
