My guy. Change is the only constant. You have to look at uniforms not through the lense of an IU fan, but as an 16-18 year old. The cut of our uniforms isn’t what kids want. Adidas doesn’t push any merch for IU. Done believe me? Go to any open gym at a YMCA and see what the kids are wearing, it’s not adidas. Names on back would signal we are with the times. If you want to say “keep the piping style jersey with no names for home games” then I’m okay with that, but the cut needs updated. A few years ago on this board someone posted Texas Techs practice facility. It was twice as large as ours. Had twice as much stuff, more courts, etc. IU may have a top 30 (closer to 30 facility) but not top 5... my point is if we want a top 5 blue blood program we have to act like a top5 blue blood. Uniforms, (Nike sponsorship, names on back, adding mascot (the Arkansas Razorback uniforms were so cool, we could do the same with a bison)) that’s an easy fix, same with a few of the other complaints. Facilities, I would assume you would need to expand cook hall. Maybe double the size and add a lot of amenities. My dream would be we turn the Hyper back into a Hinkle Fieldhouse arena where IU would play for like 9,000 fans while they rebuild assembly hall into something awesome. I mean there were big complaints with Tom Creans program of playing a ton of cupcakes. The fans pointed it out and Archie solved that problem. I feel like the fans are pointing out the issues of a refresh so I’m hopeful the same happens. I want to hire anyone for a role who says it’s their Dream Job. I’m exited. Any inside info? Or is that a gut feeling? I mean the practice facility is nice but you have to compare to the rest of Big10 a few years ago they ranked the b10 jobs and IU was like 6th in facilities. Before when Archie was hired Fred Glass came out publicly and said that they would look at former IU players and people who were connected to the program and then he didn't. Dakich has said that its rubbed former players et al and those connected in the wrong way. So I assume he's happy because Dolson is actually seeking feedback from prior IU guys, not because we are about to hire alford.

Lol lets not get ahead of ourselves. Our last 2 contracts with Crean and Archie put us in a bad position. Imagine if Musselman isn't the guy by year 4 and we owe him $20m. lol. We need to be able to get out of a contract if he underperforms but also have a large enough buyout that if he's successful he doesn't leave us. Again I'm calling for a performance based buyout, no tournament the buyout drops, consecutive missed tournaments buyout drops again. Making the tournament or going to E8 or FF increases buyout.

The people at IU that have this holier than thou smugness need to stop. Beard is the best coach available after stevens period. I get that you don’t want a dirty program. But look at UK. Look at Duke, look at Kansas, Arizona, if you want to be at that level you have to operate in a grey zone. Also would he need to be as dirty at IU vs TT? I wonder if the Stevens Rumors got so out of hand that they are really keeping things under wraps and its just a misdirection. Honestly almost everyone's coaching list has Stevens 1 then Beard 2.... so if we haven't even reached out... Does that mean Stevens is still in play?

I mean legally speaking BS can’t publicly say he’s negotiating his contract or looking at another Job. His contract is also being negotiated by his wife, which is his agent and so there would be two people in the know. BS’s wife and Dolson...so leaks wouldn’t be ongoing. If IU can't land a top coach its because IU isn't cool anymore. If we land a top coach then it turns out i'm wrong and IU is cool then I apologize, but here are my thoughts on what would have to change if IU can't land anyone they go after. Facilities are not the top 5 in the country. Uniforms are outdated and adidas sponsorship isn't cool to 18 year olds. Haven't won anything in recent years. rumors are that Administration is looking to self report any and everything National media doesn't like us

LOL I would say the universal list had Stevens and Beard as 1 and 2. as for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, they are up for debate but would include Musselman and Oates Belien, Matta, Poter Moser, FIfe, Lewis, Woodson, and a few others. I love @Chris007 's insight. I just find it hard to believe that Dolson went from Stevens to Thad Matta as 1 and 2. Not saying that isn't what Chris was told, but in my opinion in no scenario is Matta your #2, if we're already at Matta then that means our 2nd and probably 3rd and 4th choices said no. Which is scary to me.
