  1. Who else could IU of hired at the time?
  2. I didn’t watch the game, but I expected this outcome Maybe Archie is better at half court offense than Crean, but transition O, and shooters are a big issue, so it doesn’t matter if he has the recipe, he doesn’t have the ingredients and hasn’t shown he can develop players. Honestly at this point it seems to be a lateral move from Crean. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. Does she think the standing and waving and video tribute are a "spectacle"?
  4. This was bad. Projected Kenpom record is still 19-12. But I could totally seeing us lose the next 11 games Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. hahaha I'm just way to wound up and defensive. I went back and re-read it. I get it now. Cheers to those who ***** beside me in the battlefield that is the IU boards.
  6. Old Friend, let me retype the title of this thread for ya in case you didn't read it: The Unbridled Negativity Thread. If you didn't know, unbridled means: uncontrolled; unconstrained. I stay on the negative threads as to not bring the sunshine pumpers down on the other threads.
  7. Over under on how many pages this thread explodes to if we lose to NW tonight?
  8. I missed it before, what's the single biggest issue holding IU back from being a top destination?
  9. Do you think the job is more attractive with a new AD and president?
  10. Can you elaborate? What home run hires did we go after and say no? I wouldn't have considered Mack, Archie, or Holtmann home run hires at the time, but I would have been happiest with Holtmann out of the three.
  11. To be fair, most fans wanted a home run hire and I wouldn't say we got that when he was announced.
  12. I just don't see how they improve that much on either defense or offense through the rest of the year, but not ruling it out. I'm really on the side of, convince me you shouldn't be fired... FCTC was on Dan Dakich yesterday and he was fantastic, I wish he would have been able to come on his show during his time at IU. It would have probably helped put fans at ease if he could have been just real with them on a public forum and not have his only communication with the fans be postgame shows. Is Knight coming official? Would they announce this before hand to make sure its a sell out?
  13. Have to be able to make the tourney. KenPom projects us to win 7 games the rest of the year, the only one road game at Nebraska which seems doubtful considering the first time we played. That would put us at 18-13 (8-12) ((Kenpom projected record does not equal totals of W/L from above)). We also aren't heavy favorites in any of the remaining games except for Nebraska. So a 17-14 (7-13) or 16-15 (6-14) record is maybe more likely than the outcomes of 19-12 (9-11) or 20-11 (10-10)
  14. How was there not a clause in his contract that said your buyout is reduced if you miss the tournament for three straight years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. ^this x1,000,000. Why is it that brown banners board members can come together to create great ideas. And it’s been crickets and cobwebs from the athletic department for 12 years. Everything about the basketball program needs a young fresh breath of air. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Chris Beard, Bruce Pearl to start the list. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. So my understanding from a national perspective: Here are the Pro’s: -Facilities are now on par with the average college program -talented in state recruits -rich history (5 championships) -large fan base -unique home court advantage Cons: -lack of recent success -lack of established culture of winning -poor administration and compliance dept -inability to operate in grey areas -sometimes too traditional and high school kids don’t care about being super conservative and traditional What am I missing? And which of these is the reason Archie is failing here? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  18. But why? Especially if we miss the tournament it will be beyond toxic and waiting another year after that will put us back into a serious rebuild Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. Also, Fred thank you for leaving before you could get fired! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. Is this the worst position the program had been in over the last 12 years? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. True but he now has more at his disposal then Tom Crean ever had. Did Crean not ask, or did he not know? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. He did. If Allen goes 5-7 next year then Fred Glass was sold fools gold with his 7 year extension of him. I’m still bullish on IUFB. I’m not really a CFB fan so maybe I’m just uninformed. TBD Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. While I agree with you on Fred Glass, I thought Allen did an okay job putting the team in a position to win. We make the PaT or field goal and it’s a different ball game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. From the Hoosier Hysterics podcast with Brian Snow, he basically says the Athletic administration/ Fred Glass are so unbelievably clueless on what it takes to win at an elite level and how to build a sustainable culture so that you can hire a coach and not be in the rebuilding phase. Says that’s why Holtmann and Mack are successful, because their ADs set up a program to win from day one. And that’s why every time we hire a coach it’s a 3 to 4 year rebuild. From the pod, Indiana would do things to shoot them selves in the foot with buy games, locker rooms, meals, etc. they didn’t even have a practice schedule under crean. It sounds like it’s comical how poor the basketball program was ran both under Crean and Fred Glass. I’m not necessarily in the boat that McRobbie is the biggest issue. I always thought it was Fred Glass. With his retirement it opens up the door for some real change. Then when McRobbie retires after next year the door is blown open. One theory I have is that Fred Glass retired this year rather than next so that McRobbie could choose his successor, I.e. Dolson so that he could keep everything status quo. 25. Seriously tho. Why is Arkansas not in a 3 year rebuild and IU is.Arkansas has a first year coach whose team is coming off an NIT season, No starter above 6'7", and only go about 7 or 8 deep. Archie inherited a decent enough team to make the tournament in Year 1. All he had to do was beat Ft. Wayne (we lost by 20), Indiana State (we lost by 21) and Rutgers (we lost by 7) you win those 3 games and we make the tournament. In year two all he needed to do was to beat Northwestern, and Rutgers and we probably make the tournament. I get that APR may have hurt our ability to bring in transfers in year one, and maybe compliance. but why is IU desperately trying to figure out which way is up 13 games into the season 3. IMO we still don't have an identity, and the next two years we do not seem to be a final four contender. Like why is it so hard at IU?
