Anyone else watching this OSU ILL game? My buddy and I were discussing the other day how awesome the swag is for OSU and ILL. How they are legit cool programs and cool teams. We started talking about how they were different then IU and one of the biggest things we came up with was the Nike sponsorship. We then started talking about Nike and how when you're 18, you have no money and cool swag is such an important thing in your life. Go on any website and you'll see 30 awesome nike things for a random Nike school and when its the IU section there's like 2 dumpy shirts. I don't believe adidas helps IU sell any merch what so ever and I'm not sure kids are excited about getting free Adidas gear. Go to any open Gym in the US and no kid is wearing adidas. I know Fred Glass designed our most recent uniforms which is why our tops don't match the bottoms and the cuts of our uniforms are so dumpy. IU definitely has a style issue. Does anyone else agree? I'm not against keeping the White home unis, but can we please switch our sponsorship from Adidas to Nike? and can we please add like 3 alternate jerseys with our names on the back?

So let me get this straight. We self Sabotage with how the knight firing went down, forcing us to hire someone that we probably didn’t necessarily want, we then fire him. Get another coach that not everyone wants. We self sabotage and fire Sampson because some boosters didn’t like him. Because of that we’re forced to hire Crean which a lot of people didn’t want, then we can’t fire Crean because his buyout was too high, so we delay the inevitable..then we fire Crean and hire Archie, whom not everyone was excited for...but now we can’t fire him and get someone we want because buyouts are too high... so it seems we’re gonna settle on someone not everyone wants.... This seems like a repeating pattern. Why can’t Iu just hire a good coach like Ohio state, Illinois, Louisville, or any other school. Is it one persons fault? Also I was laughed at for saying Fred Glass should put in a clause in Archie’s contract that stated if he doesn’t make the tournament in his first 4 years his buyout gets greatly reduced Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

But the can gets kicked to next year. We make the S16, then we stay in limbo for another year after that. Next thing you know, its 2023 and then we're in a complete rebuild again with a new coach.

I don't know of one player that's developed under Archie, so maybe transferring to a coach with a good history of development wouldn't be a bad idea.

Lol not bashing Archie or the administration here, just asking a serious question. Does landing big recruits like this save Archie for 2 more years? I worry because I felt like Crean was on his last leg but then Thomas Bryant signed and all of a sudden Tom Crean was way off the hot seat from the administration perspective. Although I realize we then won the Big10 and made a S16 with TB, the writing was on the wall for TC. ... I also realize IU could win 4 games the BTT then make an elite 8 run or something this year and its a moot point. My thought is that you don't base whether or not a coach gets an extension based on a single recruit. Ideally if "Its Indiana" the player would still come even if a coaching change as long as the coaching change was great.

There was an unbelievable article on him in GQ a few years ago. Really details on how he made a FF, then the wheels came off, and then he had to pretty much reinvent the way he coached/looked at thing,/approached recruiting, leading to him winning 2 national championships... The coach Wright that went to the first final four and the coach that won the national titles were basically two different coaches, from his own perspective that is.
