From what I've gathered the RPO is not "his" offense. He'll tailor the offense to his players (QB). Also RPO's were a part of their offense last year but not as much as you might think. I don't think you'll see the NFL be influenced by collegiate players decisions to stay an additional year. The inherent risk is 100% on the players and if they don't get injured they'll still be there the next year. If they get hurt then an NFL franchise just saved themselves $. Definitely fine with his staff. Also fine with some players from JMU as well. Can't be all SBC players that he brings in though. And my biggest concern is McCloud being our starter next year. Jeebus...I am the one that said So. Cupps > Fr. Fland. So clearly I'm a Cupps believer and will trumpet him anytime I can. That said, we have to be honest about our assessments of the guy. Gabe is going to give you everything he has at all times which is why I love him now and going forward. You can acknowledge that and his faults at the same time. Agree he did. I expect that from him each and every night. But to say he played "great" defensively tonight would be suggesting we watched different games. I love Cupps now and especially for the future but his defense tonight wasn't good. Maybe Dug didn't shoot well but I think that was more on McDaniel than it was an influence of Cupps.
