Maryland vs Indiana - Game Thread, Fri., 12/1 @ 7 BTN

Solid 1st half. Mbagko and Ware need to recognize when it's not there and kick it out. Can add Gunn to that list Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

Could this be the infamous day that Cupps takes over and never gives up his spot as the PG? Probably not. Xavier Johnson is getting disrespected in here and I'm afraid we're all about to find out how important he really is. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

I can see a path to 7 and maybe even 8 wins next year. I actually believe this which is wild. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
If there is only one we keep I'd want it to be DMC. Unfortunately I think he's one of the most likely to depart. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Was curious as well. No excuses? Goal will be to always win a NC rather than just be bowl eligible?? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

I hope Cignetti tries to upgrade his S coach and his CB coach. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

Kaiser was expected to be a shooter who hasn't been. Or at least I thought he was suppose to be. Not sure about DSH but he definitely hasn't been a good one. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
To correct myself: they run the read exclusively but not the RPO Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Even if he gets offered the JMU HC job? Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I agree, especially if you can get 3 more years with him. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

He was the QB coach but not OC. Not sure if the exclusively read option/rpo is his baby or if it's just what suited McCloud though. Regardless you'd imagine, as you said, he could adjust. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Guess I need to watch more because my small sample size says he's not "fantastic". Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

I haven't watched enough but what I did watch McCloud wasn't fantastic. He has great mobility and can make tough throws but his arm strength isn't great and accuracy is questionable. He's also a RS Sr this year after having transferred twice. Honestly I think Cignetti's QB's are a product of the system more often than extraordinary talents. And yes I know the kid just won SBC POY. Maybe I just watched his 2 bad games so far. I plan to watch more. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

They've stunk this year from 3 but went 8-20 in their last game so maybe finding their stroke. They should be a good shooting team but just haven't been so far. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
Names I think Cignetti could bring with him. I'm sure there's more Mikail Kamara DL Aidan Fisher LB Elijah Sarrat WR Zach Horton TE Ryan Hanson P James Carpenter DL Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

Remarkably. Then being charged $5 for tap water that my wife spent all of half time and 3rd quarter waiting in line for. If IUFB gets to those levels consistently they have some logistics work to do. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

Hells yeah! I'd say this an A hire for IU. Shout out toLebowski for bringing his name up quite awhile ago. I dismissed it because I assumed he'd get a bigger/better job. If nothing else this signifies that IU is finally taking football seriously. Now as others have said we need to do a lot more in regards to facilities upgrades and NIL. I'll elaborate a bit. Offense: Good run blocking Unpredictable play calling Can see the play calling looking better with better talent Not afraid to take deep shots Aggressive after turnovers Exclusively read option run game At times utilized a H-back Poor pass pro Rarely run outside the tackles A lot of bubble screens Defense: 4-3 cover 2 seemed to be base Good run D Good pass rush and mostly only rushing 4 Good tackling Awful pass D Gave up tons of wide open looks and often got beat Give up huge chunk plays If the rush doesn't get to QB their secondary got torched Special teams: Very good and aggressive punt rush Kicking game both P and K seemed solid Kick Return coverage not good (had 2 returned on them) Coaching: Not aggressive on 4th down Except when down 10 with 8 min to go in 3rd on 4th and 2 at their own 23 he went for it. Didn't get it. Probably the biggest eyebrow raiser for me. Like I said play calling seemed pretty good overall and they were balanced. Didn't have any real problems with time management. Not a lot of penalties outside of some holds in Virginia game in the 1st half. Sorry I know that's a lot to even consider reading and not very professional Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

Watched 2 full games of JMU. @Virginia and @Marshall. There were some good and some bad. Some very similar styles and problems we've seen in Allen's tenure. They do things way better than anything Allen's teams ever did though as well. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -

Yeah I was confused too but it was reported by both Weaver and Osterman so he's a legit candidate. And in Osterman's words "a name that's gained strong traction". Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk -
