  1. Went for the big hit -- and not the tackle. Again, that's the kind of thing that cannot happen in a game like this. You have to take advantage of every opportunity.
  2. Those cardboard fans are awfully quiet! ... Let's keep it that way!
  3. Man, I damn near soiled myself when Gus yelled, "He dropped it..." Thank God, he finished by saying, "in the bucket!"
  4. I don't know if we're being too protective of Penix or what -- but a dual-threat QB is only a dual threat if he can pass and run. Hell, Penix won't even scramble or roll out. I just don't understand.
  5. We're a great volleyball team! Keep batting it around till someone catches it!
  6. Man, if that last play develops just a second sooner, the receiver Penix was looking for had just flashed open and had nobody between him and the end zone.
  7. Our offense is the same it's been for the first four weeks -- a run up the gut or a drop-back pass. Every. Damn. Play. Penix hasn't rolled out once and we haven't had one run to the edge. It's time to diversify and pull out the stops!
  8. Jeezus -- WE CANNOT HAVE THESE MISTAKES! GOTTA CATCH THAT BALL!
  9. Watley-Neely has to bring that ball down! ...
  10. Whew! Needed that.
  11. Man, this is one of those games where you have to be better than perfect. Can't have these f--ked-up plays! We'll be down 28-0 in the blink of an eye if we don't straighten this out.
  12. Two plays. Yikes!
  13. Gus Johnson on the call this afternoon!
  14. The difference is that Pitino gets hookers for his players. Marshall beats them!
  15. Sending mixed signals here -- Buster is from Columbus!
  16. Damn, hate to do this, but ... OSU 45 IU 21
  17. If it wasn't the Rose Bowl, I'd say it was the game at Michigan State in 1987. If we win that, we win the B1G outright -- and go to Pasadena. Unfortunately, we got annihilated -- 27-3 (although we did lead 3-0!). If memory serves, we were without our starting QB (the late Dave Schnell), who had an emergency appendectomy a couple weeks earlier. I was in school then and even though he's a PU grad, my dad told me if IU went to the Rose Bowl and I wanted to go, he'd pay for it!
  18. I can tell our 3-point shooting has improved. We hit 100 percent!
  19. I wasn't sure exactly what "Virtual Hoosier Hysteria" was gonna be, but I didn't think it would be that ...
  20. Tom Allen's interview with Dan Patrick ... Dan gets a little confused in talking about how good we were in the 1980s with Lee Corso and a running back named Mike Harkrader. I suspect he means with Bill Mallory and Anthony Thompson. Obviously, Corso was the coach and Harkrader was the running back -- in the 1970s -- and we had a couple decent years with them, but not like in the late 1980s.
  21. FYI -- CTA will be on the Dan Patrick Show this morning.
  22. I thought Theo would get us multiple championships. Still, one is better than none. I thought he'd stay one more year, but some big decisions loom and if he's not gonna be around beyond next year, he shouldn't be the one making them. He went all-in in 2016 and pretty much sold the farm to get Chapman and I suspect after 108 years without a title, it was worth it. From a die-hard Cubs fan of nearly 50 years, thank you, Theo! We'll always have 2016! ...
  23. Yahoo! reported that Allen's buyout was $20 million, so even if South Carolina wanted to make a play for him, I don't think they'd want to pony up that kind of money, especially when they still owe Muschamp $13M. And I'm not saying Allen will go anywhere, especially if he's making close to $4M a season, but remember: Tracy Smith was born in Indiana, wanted to be here, helped build up the baseball program into a national power and seemed as if he'd stick around a good, long time.
