That was a terrible pass. That said, I'm glad he threw it! -

So not only did they overturn it, but they called a penalty on us? WTF? -

It doesn't seem as if there's enough evidence to overturn this, but with our luck -- I'm fully confident it'll be PSU ball. -

I think they're gonna overturn this ... I think they'll say our guy was out of bounds. -

Not a good offensive start to the season. -
John Mellencamp: Scarecrow. ... Bought the cassette the day it was released and played it so much it wore out -- so I had to buy another.

I can't remember if it was in a podcast with Fish or during his B1G media day interview, but Archie said he thought Franklin could be ready to have a big season. -
(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue

If not us -- just please don't let it be Purdue. I'd rather see him go to U.Va. than play for the Toiletmakers. That reminds me -- a few months ago, some dude on here claimed Trey was gonna announce later that day he was headed to Bloomington. Not only was he way, way off on that intel, but I've never seen him on this board since. I don't remember his exact username, though. -
Looks as if Ramsey is QB1 for the Wildkitties. Who'dve thunk that one day, IU would have two starting Big Ten QBs!

They're working out at AH. I thought they practiced at Cook ... Was good to see TJD taking some shots from outside. He's gonna be so much more effective if he can hit from 20 feet or so consistently. I don't recall him last season making anything farther than a free throw. -

Some player interviews from media day. I had a helluva time trying to hear anything the players said. I could hear the questions fine. The answers? Not so much. -

Listened to Fisch's podcast with Archie and I've seen more than one story about how he keeps saying he likes this team's chemistry, how it's a fun group and how everyone likes each other and gets along. Makes you wonder how relieved he is that someone else will be wearing No. 3 this season ... -
RIP to one tough SOB. And to someone who could have been a Hoosier. The story goes that Gibson wanted to play basketball at IU. But his high school coach was told in a letter by Branch McCracken (who, ironically, recruited the first Black player to IU): "We have already filled our quota of Negroes."

Have seen a couple social media items -- nothing official -- that Damon Bailey's father was killed and his mother seriously injured in a motorcycle accident last night. I can't find any confirmation, so I hope it's not true. But if it is, prayers to Damon and his family. -
(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue
LamarCheeks replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I live in Southeastern Virginia, where there is extensive coverage of U.Va. sports. All those rumors of Bennett were just writers speculating when those jobs came open -- I don't believe there ever was any teeth to them. One of the reasons Bennett had no interest in IU is that he didn't want all the outside tasks that come with the job -- all the PR, etc. He just wants to coach. Plus, there's the fact that the relationship between IU and his sister ended poorly. -
(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue

The only thing I've ever seen about Bennett is some guy from CBS saying that if any college coaches were to go to the NBA, Bennett has the ability to do so. It was 100 percent his opinion -- and all he was saying was that Bennett had the credentials to make the jump. That's all it was. There was no notion or speculation that Bennett would leave for the NBA. It was just one guy saying he thought Bennett had the coaching acumen. Bennett isn't going anywhere. I'm not saying he will get Kaufman, but I cannot imagine him leaving U.Va. at this point. ... If Bennett turned down IU because he didn't want to be in a fish bowl, he certainly wouldn't want to coach in the NBA. U.Va. is the perfect situation for him -- a low-key program in which he's comfortable and can flourish. -
This is why I'm always skeptical until the LOI is signed.

The Minnesota sports, BTW, are ... men's tennis, men's gymnastics, men's indoor track and men's outdoor track.
