  1. Will be a really good measuring stick to see exactly where we are. Those programs are the cream of the crop. We could very well be staring at a couple beatdowns. Hope not, though.
  2. I'm disappointed we missed out on Garcia, but with Brunk and (hopefully) TJD on board for another two years (and maybe longer with TJD, but not holding my breath), I'm not terribly worried. We have time to replenish the bigs. What I'm hoping is that either Galloway or Leal (or both) is a pure shooter who can knock down 3s consistently and poses a real threat to the defense -- ala Blackmon, Zeisloft, Hulls, Roth. We haven't really had one in Archie's tenure and really need that guy we can rely on to bang it home from distance. Early on, our 3-point shooting is still very underwhelming. We appear better at FTs but the 3-point shooting is not particularly good (through four games, 104th in the country and with last night's 3-10 effort, that'll probably drop). And if we can only hit 35 percent against the likes of Troy, Princeton, Western Illinois, Portland State and North Alabama, I don't wanna know how we'll fare against the B1G. (FYI, so far Sean McNeil is 3 for 5 from long range in about 10 minutes a game for West Virginia, which is 3-0. He's the former juco kid many here were salivating over. Have no point with that -- just throwing it out there.)
  3. As the great Norman Dale once said: "I would hope you would support who we are, not who we are not."
  4. And can you imagine if that Larry Bird kid had stuck around and played on that 1975-76 team? It wouldn't have lost a game!
  5. I'm guessing you're not an IU fan and might, in fact, be a troll. My hunch is based on a) the fact that this was your very first post; b) the tone of said post; and c) you obviously don't know the truth about IU athletics -- We're a football school now!
  6. I'm not breaking any new ground here, but my guess is Marquette. The main reason is when when we're getting a recruit, it seems to be pretty well-known (or at least a very, very good guess) on this site that he's coming (Langford, Jackson-Davis, Leal, Galloway). When it's not at-all certain, it seems they always pick somewhere else (Garland, Brooks, Watford, etc). We never seem to get the 50-50 or 60-40 or 70-30 guys -- or whatever ...
  7. I say we fight fire with fire. If they're gonna have D-Wade visit the lad, let's get T-Prill on a plane to the Twin Cities! ASAP!
  8. I didn't think we would win, but I still can't get over that PSU was essentially gifted 25 points. A recap .. 7 -- TD after stupid fumble-not fumble on our first possession 7 -- TD on long Clifford run with obvious missed hold 7 -- TD after stupid, stupid fake punt 4 -- Dropped TD pass on which we settle for FG (OK that's not giving them points, but it's taking 4 away from us) Why, oh why, can't we win these games! ... So damn frustrating.
  9. Even now, we're committing penalties! Good Lord -- this team needs discipline.
  10. These are the kinds of games we keep saying we have to win. Yet we don't. And while PSU is better, the opportunities have been there. Really disappointed.
  11. PSU was essentially gifted 21 points ... 7 -- the TD after the stupid opening fumble-not fumble 7 -- the Clifford long TD run when there was an obvious missed holding call 7 -- the ridiculous fake punt, followed by an immediate TD Now, we did get a break when the PSU kid dropped the easy pick-six. But we have our chances and in a game like this, we need those things to go in our favor. Today, they're not.
  12. When I saw that live, I noticed and was pissed. But when they showed the replay, he wasn't gonna catch him ... Still, the official needs to get the hell outta the way.
  13. Game over! ... I didn't think we we would win, but we were hangin' with them for a while.
  14. Wow. We just took stupidity to a whole new level.
  15. Out of halftime, we huddle up with 12 guys. Are you serious?
  16. Of course there's no penalty -- it would be against PSU.
  17. If Dakich calls AH "The House of Calls," I guess we should call Beaver Stadium "The (Lions') Den of Inequity."
  18. That's targeting! ... Why aren't they reviewing this!
  19. OK, so maybe that's us getting those 7 points back. 'Cause that should've been a pick-six. Ramsey needed to put more zip on that ball. (Although that Clifford TD came after a very obvious hold).
  20. Ohhh. ... Did anybody see the obvious hold as Clifford broke up the middle? Our guy had a beat on him, but the PSU lineman just tackled him. Man, we need to get some breaks here and that's one we should get. Very obvious penalty.
  21. Not sure why this is being reviewed. Even if it's a fumble, the PSUs recovered.
  22. Why did he turn back inside on that return? It looked as if the entire outside of the field was open!
