I know this makes absolutely no sense -- but I tend to be a little superstitious. And it seems every time I record an IU game, we lose! ... Because my cable subscription (yes, I have cable -- still a dinosaur) includes the BTN, I used to be able to go to their website and watch a replay of the game. I guess I didn't realize that was no longer available.

I was working last night with the game on in the background -- so I didn't get to see much. Didn't think to record it, so later on, I went to the BTN's website, which sent me to Fox Sports, where I found -- a 5-minute package of highlights. In this day and age of all this fantastic technology, you can't watch a replay of a Big Ten basketball game online somewhere a few hours after it happened -- especially if you subscribe to BTN? Am I missing something?

Was never a big Dodgers fan, but you can't help but admire his loyalty -- with the franchise for 71 years! Glad he got to see his beloved team win one more World Series. RIP to a true baseball legend.

I agree. Love what he did when he was a player, but I really want no part of him as a coach. He seems to do very well at mid-majors (SW Missouri, New Mexico) and be relatively mediocre at Power 5s (Iowa, UCLA). Plus, his off-the-court behavior is questionable: there's the Pierre Pierce situation, there's a video of him calling a BYU player an a$$hole in the handshake line and supposedly, ,he nearly got into a rumble with Tim Floyd. I thought Glass might be leaning in Alford's direction after he fired Crean, but I think he got a huge backlash from alumni who weren't the least bit interested.

I would guess at any point in time, an AD has a list of coaching candidates at the ready, for whatever reason (Archie goes 0-30 and needs to be canned; Archie goes 30-0 and gets hired by the Knicks; Archie suddenly quits. These are all just "fun" little hypotheticals; don't get yourselves in an uproar). But you mentioning these folks makes me wonder if there actually have been discussions among the higher-ups about Archie's future in B-town? And since we've had four openings in the past 20 years (Davis hired; Sampson hired; Crean hired; Miller hired) and Alford never got the gig, I thought at this point, that was just something that wasn't gonna happen?

I sorta feel bad for Nate Sudfeld. Pretty much everybody is all in on railing on the Eagles for pulling Hurts on Sunday night and replacing him with Sudfeld. And it was a pretty bizarre decision. Today, I'm seeing a story that some players had to be restrained from going after Pederson after he made the switch (probably a bit of an exaggeration, but who knows?) All this makes Nate look bad. Since he's a backup QB, he should be ready to play -- but he clearly was not ready to go into that game. And really, there was no reason for him to. He was awful. Just a bad situation all the way around. And he's kinda caught in the middle.

I have to be honest, I don't even remember making that first pick. I guess that was fresh off the somewhat disappointing OT win over PSU. I just saw the thread yesterday and thought I had better get my pick in -- didn't even realize I already had made one ... Guess it's better to be lucky than good!

TJD seems to be a bit of an enigma this season. At times, he looks very disinterested and pouty -- like in the first half tonight -- almost as if he doesn't wanna be there. And he sucks. But when he engages and plays with fire -- like in the second half tonight -- he's really, really good. Hopefully he can find the latter TJD more often.

Armaan looks a little gimpy going off the floor, but not too bad.
