(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
Artie86 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I feel Julian knows the stakes involved with starting and being a backup if he plans on coming to IU next year. It's a risk all QB's are willing to take. Look how Jackson has stuck with IU, even after Kurtis started over him this year. It really says something about confidence these players have in Coach Cignetti, QB Coach Sunseri and this entire coaching staff. -

It was confirmed on HSN…that he didn’t make the trip. Apparently something came up at the last minute…. -
So cool! Thanks for sharing, but the Washington Post only offers a one time free read if you put in your email and the NYtimes wants a subscription.....

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
Artie86 replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Scott Dolson and everyone associated with IU football, fans, alumni, boosters, etc., have seen what IU football "can" look like/be like right now and in the future. I think Dolson would not want to mess this thing up because she'z rollin'! He has stated how much he likes Scott Dolson's vision and his investment in the IU program moving forward. "Making IU Football Great Again"! lol -

It is funny how many teams, both good, average and bad are already dismissing Coach Cignetti staying at IU for the long haul. Who knows what he will do,.... but most everyone has mentioned IU football as a "doormat school" and there is no way he would want to stay here long term. IU can be a big time football school if Cignetti's given the tools and resources like other power 5 programs. Let's face it, his salary will have to be increased if he continues to win and may have to be doubled or close to it....JMO -

https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/coach Coach Cignetti is ranked 49th @ $4.25 million a year on this list. Mike Locksley of Maryland is the closest BIGTEN coach at #37 @ $5.8 mil. IU will definitely need to increase Coach Cignetti and his staff’s salary to keep other schools away. -

This video briefly speaks about IU's continued push to stay on Julian. Towards the end, it does mention something about a possible visit for the Nebraska game. It's actually a little difficult to hear part of what he was saying, but that's what I gathered. Take it for what it's worth. -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

Family is important, as we all know. He has mentioned, while at JMU that it was close to "home" or family. He was born and grew up in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and grew up and eventually graduated from West Virginia. So being at IU would be relatively close to "home" or family. Family and being in close proximity seems to be very important to him, especially at this point in his career. I think IU will do everything it can to make sure Curt and his family are happy at IU because other schools will definitely come calling. I thought I would include an old JMU with his two daughters and his wife. It's definitely a good looking family! CC.pdf -

....yep, we often think we run things at home, but....I've always believed, "If mama ain't happy, nobody's happy!" lol Look, she LOVES Bloomington and he gets to keep his 35 year old, blue recliner.....It's a wrap. lol -

...Well, with 4 left to choose, I would think IU's homecoming weekend vs. Nebraska could be a stretch since he was just at USC last weekend, but I could see the Michigan game or the Washington game as two beauts'. Who knows? -

You have to wonder what Julian is thinking right now with USC. DC2345 posted on BTB that Sunseri was in Georgia last Friday..... hmmmm. -

If CMW can’t produce an improved and formidable team this year with large NIL resources, including specific players picked for HIS type of play on both sides of the ball….., Dolson must turn the page! This is his year to flip the script, because on paper this roster should make a lot of noise and quiet the naysayers. He has zero room for sputtering through the year. If we could see a similar turnaround like IU Football (minus a new coach), we will start to see more confidence in recruits wanting to play for CMW. -

Julian Lewis set to visit USC again, this weekend vs. Penn St. Kinda strange to me… https://usc.rivals.com/news/julian-lewis-set-to-make-a-return-visit-to-usc -
The more I read about Myles the more I love this kid! If what the current team has been saying about him comes to fruition when the season finally begins, we may be in for a special season at IU. It’s been a long time coming. The only question will be how will Coach Woodson use/coach his new toys this year? Having a true vocal and extremely productive point guard since Yogi is going to be so refreshing, especially with all the tools around him at his disposal…. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/theres-no-one-like-him-ive-played-with-ever-iu-looking-to-myles-rice-to-fill-leadership-void/

….same thing going on with Ohio State fan base… It’s like, they’re saying, “ Oh, that’s cute how IU suddenly thinks they’re good now. Wait till we get em in November!”
-
It’s going on everywhere…. Fans and a few upcoming, opposing teams, most recently, Nebraska are saying (I paraphrase)….. - IU’s good, but not that good…. - They haven’t played anyone yet and their schedule is soft…. -They haven’t played a team of our caliber yet…. -Cignetti won’t stay long at IU…. Blah, blah blah….on and on.
