(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
HinnyHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'd like to think Tipton would have enough respect for the kids/families and enough business sense not to proceed with something like that without authorization. And if I were recruiting a friend to join me, I would keep it private to not look like I was pressuring him in front of the college basketball world via social media. But that's just me. So hopefully it's Keion prepping to don stripes. But maybe I'm just blindly hopeful. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA

I actually hadn't heard or seen said rumors. If they'd been really widespread they would have made it to this board. Maybe they were more local, possibly floating around CG. USPS, had you heard anything like that locally? Either way I suppose it doesn't matter. Can't wait to see him Striped. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Re: fan base - I was telling one of my best friends, who is a die-hard Michigan fan, how ridiculous our fans can be at times. He was really surprised at how last night's game unfolded. I told him just to be patient: we'll be beating them again soon. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Man, just having a strong year. He seems confident. I hope it carries over to Bloomington. -
He probably ruptured his patellar tendon. You can generally pop a patella back in place with a bit of well-timed distraction; generally not a season ender unless the tendon is finito. There's not a good up close replay of the event, but I won't be surprised if he is the winner of a repair for one of the big four ligaments as well. Get well soon, Vic. Patellar dislocation may only be the tip of the iceberg unfortunately. Peyton Manning. Paul George. Andrew Luck. And now Victor Oladipo. The sporting deities are pissed at the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

So some concerns I’m having...

Frankly....start the bench for the first few minutes. Message sent. Received? We'd have to wait and see. The game wouldn't start off any worse than the last stretch of games. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Eh. Rough patch. It sucks. The current status of the team is: broken. But there's a lot ahead. Let's see how it pans out before we put the panic level at 150%. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Ironically helping the Pacers in the process. Indy and Philly may be neck and neck for playoff seeding at the end of the regular season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

This team is broken. It doesn't mean it isn't fixable. But it is indeed currently broken. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Get a fricking shooter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
He could easily have sprained one of the big 4 ligaments if there was enough force to the back of the leg and depending on if his foot was planted, etc. I didn't see the injury so I don't know.

Indiana vs Nebraska 1/14/19 6:30pm FS1

I’m not one to panic. But if that game doesn’t indicate once and for all that something is wrong with this team then idk what would. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
In the short segment I heard of Archie’s radio appearance he mentioned waiting on Rob to “feel better”, so I’m not betting on him to see the floor at Maryland. He mentioned McBob still struggling with his back and practicing about 50-60% of the time. Jerome and Race “aren’t available”. He did refer to Jerome’s leg issue as a “condition” and then corrected himself to say “contusion, or however you want to call it”. Those are all loose quotes from my otherwise tired and jumbled brain this morning as I’m best able to recall them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

IUBB @ Michigan - 1/6/19 @ 4:30 ET
HinnyHoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Slow starts and injuries have already been adequately addressed, so... McBob has to at least look at the rim, angle some body language toward the basket, shot fake, or for Heaven's sake take a shot when he's open. Any one of those things. With his defense taking a step back this season we can't afford him making us a 4 on 5 team every possession. If that's how he's going to play then he's going to see himself do that in a more limited role. The future of the program needs experience (except most of them are currently broken). The team still shows promise in a shorthanded state. Moreover, this game gives promise in the direction of the program and the seasons to come. This game was about coaching, in game adjustments, and personnel management. Teams are fluid and different year to year. The man coaching them is the constant. Give him a full arsenal of personally scouted talent and coachability....Things continue to look up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
