  1. Have you seen the observations from last night in the team chemistry thread that 41 made?? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. Say what you want, but terms like "kiss of death", etc tied to this recruitment are ridiculous. I agree, not landing Brooks is not good. But sheesh. If you need to gauge where you are right now, the two current supporters of your comment have proven themselves time and again the doomsday preppers of college basketball fandom. That's what's happening in this thread. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. I hope the folks dangling their toes over the edge of the cliff either packed a parachute or have a really soft landing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  4. There was also mention of the administration's role in the modern downplay of the legacy and meaning behind the Indiana basketball name. I can't remember if it was Risley or not. Definitely wasn't either of the young guys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Convenient. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. https://thegruelingtruth.net/podcast/indiana-basketball-weekly-recapiu-minnesota-post-game-show-w-steve-risley-and-collin-hartman/ Also posted in the Archie/Random thread. An hour long, but I had enough time for the first 30 minutes. Good insight from Hartman. Some will like it. Others won't. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. https://thegruelingtruth.net/podcast/indiana-basketball-weekly-recapiu-minnesota-post-game-show-w-steve-risley-and-collin-hartman/ Good listen with former players from the current and glory eras. It's a full hour, and I could only get through the first 30 so far. Covers lots of ground. Some of you will like it. Others won't. Pay attention to Collin Hartman's insight. 8. That's just a fantastically strong reply. I can understand you're upset as anyone else. But being over-emotional and irrational won't make it better. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Based on how he and a team made up entirely of his own players, with multiple pros, crashed and burned straight to a first round NIT loss his exiting trend doesn't exactly guarantee that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. They all three coach at Georgia now, FYI. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. The post-mortem report on this team after season's end should be interesting. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. I went to grad school with Fred's daughter in law. I so badly want to ask her why he is the way that he is.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. They were comments in passing on the post game live feed from Assembly Call. Someone mentioned it was basically one half the team vs the other. Idk if I believe it because I feel like that would've picked up steam as a story by now. I want to believe it. My only hope is that this team truly is so dysfunctional behind the scenes that it's sucked away any ability to play high level basketball. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Some Twitter talk of a fight at practice this week.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  16. Seriously. 9 points from horse **** 3s for Minny. With our offensive anemia that's basically the game there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. That's. IT! I can't take any more of the BS 3s from opponents!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  18. I wish the block button functioned as a boot button during certain times of the year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  20. They play hard for 40 minutes. Plain and simple. When you lose 9 of 10 it's easy to lose sight of the reality of things for both players and fans. The reality of the situation at the time of Crean's firing and subsequent coaching search was that his replacement would either be someone with a philosophy similar to Crean's or drastically different. Based on how that era played out, the odds favored the latter candidate; usually the case for a new hire when the previous coach was relieved of duty. But regardless of the hire there are players who will prefer one way vs the other, leaving a very real possibility of a team not entirely bought into the culture change. Mix in a few players lacking the required mentality to deal with change as well as a vaunted recruit who becomes the focal point of the program in year 2 (really, year 1) before he even sets foot on the practice floor. Now pile on an ungodly amount of injuries, further adding to everyone's frustrations, and we have before us the one scenario we all overlooked as being a distinct possibility because we so badly wanted to catapult back to the top when a coaching change was made. And unfortunately, it's nearly the worst possible version of that scenario: a fractured team. It's the coaches' and players' responsibilities to work through that. Right now they aren't. This kind of thing hits hard because you always assume it won't happen. But it was always a possibility. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Hmm. That is interesting. Maybe it ended up being a late offer due to that observation. Either way, his motor was questioned coming out of HS. Unfortunately he's proving them correct at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Received a bit of background on Justin from my boss the other day. He's an Illinois alum and follower of the program/B1G, so we commiserate several times a week. Anyhow, we were discussing the train wreck in progress and I mentioned the overall mentality. I mentioned Justin as an example. He told me Justin's parents are Illinois alums and it was thought he'd be recruited there, but the staff ended up passing because of a then-perceived lack of motor. Some of you probably knew this, but I found it interesting. If that's the case you'd think the guy would play with a chip on his shoulder (the good kind and not the apparent negative one he currently seems to carry). Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Sparty offered 2019 C Julius Marble. I know they’re different positions. But..... timing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  24. Here are the seven: So far all 6 CB picks have him going to LSU. Indiana wasn’t even on his list of schools. Seems we’re late to the party, but at least we’re there so far. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
