#IHSAA Boys/Girls State Tournament
HinnyHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
GOOD. Coming from a small public 1A (redundant, but true), private schools were a thorn. LCC in particular was a prominent villain come deep tournament time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I wouldn't put that label on him, at least not exclusively. There's a good chance his parents have more to do with this than he does. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

There is no fudging way that should be considered at this point. A kid buying snake oil from a snake oil salesman shouldn’t change that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Would you think them so naive to fall under the assumption that the pUKe fanbase couldn't possibly be less toxic? Hopefully that's not actually the case. Thick skin will be tested no matter where he goes. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Well the good thing about having a really, REALLY s***** day at work is that it makes a bad basketball day bearable. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2021) G Luke Brown to Ball State
HinnyHoosier replied to HoosierCoop's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
He posts a lot. Fine. There's some local bias behind it, sure. But Luke Brown is good. I experienced something very similar in my hometown with a former teammate. A school with graduating class sizes in the 40s-50s that produces a D1 player: you're damn right the community is proud of that kid. As far as I'm concerned the local point of view is valuable and will be very useful in tracking his progress in all seasons. Again, the post volume is impressive. But there's absolutely no ill-intent and he's pleasant. There are others on the board who could stand to follow suit when it comes to written demeanor. Back to Luke Brown. I'm disappointed I won't be able to make Friday's game against Delta. Top scorer vs an undefeated. In the off chance they pull off the upset I'll be there Saturday. Hoping I can catch the stream on Friday. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

HinnyHoosier replied to HoosierCoop's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Do we know he's entitled? If not that seems a bit pre-judgmental. I don't know anything about his personality. Maybe it just reads wrong to me; I understand you were making a comparison to some of the current roster, but I'm wary of labeling a kid prematurely. Back to Brown... I'd say IU is waiting on physical development. But so help me if Purdoo gets him.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

HinnyHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
With the conversation of locker room toxicity surrounding particular players affecting the team's play, coaching, and recruiting you have to wonder if the internal issues have been discussed with Brooks & Co. Maybe any planned roster adjustments have been disclosed to him. If they're still talking CAM would almost have to address it as the head coach recruiting incoming talent. Give him and family assurance that the toxicity will be dealt with, he won't be walking into a locker room full of jr high nonsense, and that the focus WILL be basketball only. To ignore or downplay an issue this obvious to high end prospects is not a good look. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Say what you want, but terms like "kiss of death", etc tied to this recruitment are ridiculous. I agree, not landing Brooks is not good. But sheesh. If you need to gauge where you are right now, the two current supporters of your comment have proven themselves time and again the doomsday preppers of college basketball fandom. That's what's happening in this thread. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

There was also mention of the administration's role in the modern downplay of the legacy and meaning behind the Indiana basketball name. I can't remember if it was Risley or not. Definitely wasn't either of the young guys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
