2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
HinnyHoosier replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I mean, it’s a scrimmage where your top two guards didn’t touch the court. We didn’t exactly lose a scrimmage to Canisius at full strength. I wouldn't worry too much. And yes FTs suck. 3pt% better?? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I like your outlook but I think there's probably more layers to it. After a major health issue people tend to approach things with a bit more caution whether they're aware of it or not. Hopefully he's had time to deal with it appropriately, and maybe that's what you're alluding to. High major, full speed basketball adds another wrinkle to that so hopefully he gets good run early on. To that, he hasn't played a single college game competitively. He's going to have some learning to do from game flow to game environment and everything in between. But I'm confident he will contribute, just tempering the expectation for the first half. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

But he also implied the Yankees have lost an insurmountable amount of games due to those injuries. Yes, they have obviously had injuries. But with that backup production and that record to show for it one can hardly blame injuries for too much of anything. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I will say the Hunter tease in Sam Story’s tweet combined with the recent social media video of Jerome using #missionaccomplished seems intriguing. But I’m also desperate for any positive sports related news after this weekend, haha. Edit: Sorry; I realize a little OT from Garcia. Back to him... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I was thinking along the same lines. The kid plays with a mindset that no one is going to stop him from getting to the rim when he decides he wants to get there. There's a level of scrap and aggressiveness there that I like. He's got the athleticism (and seemingly, the skills) to combine with that and make him a constant threat on both sides of the ball. Well, outsiders and fans alike might take a gander through this board and come away with that very impression. Are we not? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Except that this is Indiana Basketball. The problem becomes when you're ok with settling for middle of the pack results regardless of the money. Luckily, you're not ok with it. Otherwise you or the rest of us wouldn't be wasting time watching, let alone spending off season time on this board. I don't know, the statement is just surprising to me I guess. Sounds like he's focusing on life skills and readiness just as much as basketball. Which, kudos to him and parents. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I want Archie to win. To bring IU back to perennial contention. I want this to happen because I love my team. I also want it to happen so this board will find something the frick else to talk about. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
