I’m not a fan of conference additions, such as Rutgers and MD in the BT, but how do you think your conference with the Cuse, ND, Pitt, UConn, and bottom feeders would change college bball? To me that sounds like a “shrug your shoulders” type of conference until tourney time.

I have zero first hand info but have read speculation that he would not sign due to grades. -
Yes they do. And when I first glanced and saw that Kan$a$$$ had three first rounders I assumed at least two were OAD. Surprised to see that 2 sophs and one a senior.
-
Took a quick peak at a couple of mock drafts, even though it is WAY too early, and saw that Kansas has three first rounders (2 soph and a senior) while Duke and UK each only (for them) have one projected first rounder. At this point the entire Big Ten has only one projected first rounder (Oturu from MN).
-
He is not on any mock drafts, at this point, but a few good “high visibility” games (MSU, MD, OSU) and more freshman of the week and/or BT player of the week awards could quickly put him on some draft lists. That being said, I agree with others that he needs more strength and show the ability to shoot from 15 and out (his ft stroke looks good so I would think there is promise). If he does leave we will really be challenged underneath next year. I had hoped we would land a PG, big man, shooter(s) and hard nosed kid(s). At this point we it appears we have the latter two coming next year but we still need a big man and PG. No offense to Brunk and Race but that scares me if TJD leaves. At this point, if he does, we would probably look for a grad transfer but skilled big men don’t exactly litter that portal.

If fairness he said “since Knight was fired”. Don’t think he was comparing Crean to Knight.
-
They both worked at Assembly Hall. Aside from that no other similarities come to mind.

100%. Vonleh would often stand sideways with his arm up in the air. I would laugh when Dickie V would yell “get him the ball” because Vonleh did not seal off his man or give the guards a viable passing lane. Not surprising for a very young big man. He was a monster on the boards though. When it comes to instinctively knowing what to do on offense, freshman TJD is way ahead of freshman Vonleh.

A big and comforting difference for MSU fans is the success they have experienced over multiple years. Due to our lack of success I think we suffer from a severe case of “here we go again” trauma. I for one would like to be cured.

Do you know the nature of his injury? Just watched Archie’s post game presser and he mentioned everyone being healthy for yesterday’s practice but no mention of an injury tonight.
-
Another messy game. Still hoping for 9 more BT wins and a berth in the tourney. Getting nervous about us being able to do it but more minutes, and game experience, for Rob will greatly help both our ball movement and D.
-
So for comparison you pull out the team starting a freshman Pritchard and Kyle Tabor? What a GREAT example...Crean inherited a stellar lineup led by returning leading. scorer, at 1 point a game, Kyle Tabor. Good grief.
-
I predicted a 10-10 conference record and slipping into the tourney. Not feeling especially confident about my prediction right now. Was the FSU win this years version of the Marquette win last year? Hope not. Still think we pull away with 8 or 10 minutes to go. We absolutely can’t lose this..
-
At halftime Archie introduced the other players to TJD.
-
Yep. We wouldn’t be ahead of any other BT team tonight.....Just want to get through this one. Think we will win by 10+.
-
Our depth will wear them down and/or they will have some foul trouble and we will win by double digits.
-
I agree that I think we will get in the tourney but will admit I’m getting a little nervous in regards to winning 10 conference games. Rob continuing to get better will be huge and hopefully Hunter turns out to be the player many have thought he could be.
-
Lighten up. I was just being sarcastic. I mean come on....you bring up the roster he inherited a few years ago and we are playing at home, against a first year coach with a trash roster, 8 scholarship players, losses to Southern Utah and George Mason and our issue is that Archie had to keep Davis and Green? OK
-
So it’s his roster in 2 more years and then it takes three years to learn his defense so we can realistically expect to get in the tourney in 2023, 2024 ?
-
I partially agree. No way he gets fired. However........ His seat will be hot if we don’t make the tourney this year.
-
There is zero chance he does not get another year....

Prediction League (Game 11 - Nebraska 12/13/19)

IU - 85 NB - 62 Prediction #2. If we lose it will literally, not figuratively, be the end of the world as we know it.
