  1. Masters should be interesting tomorrow.
  2. Your posts about being positive (when you aren’t complaining about NIL, losing interest in todays college basketball, lament the style of play these days etc etc LOL) crack me up. My life isn’t encased in negativity, nor I am ready to jump off a bridge, because we might have lost Livingston. I’m a fan, and interested, so will express that it is a bummer and then go on with my overwhelmingly positive life.
  3. According to this article four,, not 5, are from A&M Isaiah Watts, 4-star CG - Washington State Myles Rice, 4-star CG - Indiana David Coit Jr., 4-star PG - Kansas Pharrel Payne, 4-star C - Texas A&M Elijah Saunders, 4-star SF - Virginia Andre Mills, 4-star SG - Texas A&M Solomon Washington, 4-star SF - Texas A&M George Turkson Jr., 3-star SF - Texas A&M DD’s son followed him but none of his players or 4 star recruits. Why? That gives me slight “pause”. Again, it only takes a few more signees, which will happen, to probably make the angst go away.
  4. Yep, I’m definitely not in panic mode, by any stretch, but it’s hard not to notice Buzz Williams, hired after DD, with 8 portal commitments. That being said….everything can change with a few good additions. Just hoping to see them soon. Some can downplay losing Wilkerson, if that’s what happens, but “on paper” he looks like a guy that would really help us..
  5. I agree in theory but I’d guess (guessing) half the 2 year guys leave after a year. Id rather get a guy that hits 44.5% of his threes like Wilkerson. Who knows….Going to UK might be driven by his agent as I wouldn’t be surprised if multiple visits drive up his price by 500k+. Hell, I’d drive to Lexington for 500k. It is what it is these days.
  6. I don’t have an issue with that direction/decision, as the entire “culture” needed to be flushed, but do feel a little bad for Jordy cutting his playing career a couple years short by choosing to join “Woody’s Folly”.
  7. Haven’t been closely following the staff additions. Do the recent staff announcements mean there is no role for Jordy or CC? I’m not one that thinks we need ex-IU guys, just curious if they both are definitely out.
  8. Admittedly dumb humor. Brad Steven’s as an assistant
  9. Thanks So to summarize: 1) we most likely are going to get Wilkerson 2) one of our future assistants is completing exit paperwork with his Elite8/FF team 3) another of our assistants is completing exit paperwork with the Celtics (promised to be head coach in waiting) 4) still need a PG, rim protector and depth.
  10. RE: squabbling about projections/guessing where someone is going to commit. These days it’s nearly impossible to know where a kid is going until the papers are signed. If I was a player I could honestly tell those around me that I was going to sign with IU but….all the sudden my agent calls to say that xyz offered an extra $500,000 for next year or perhaps a player that plays my position unexpectedly signs. Maybe those things sway me, maybe not.
  11. It should mean something but, on the other hand, being one of the most valuable franchises hasn’t helped the Dallas Cowboys. Hard to overcome ineptitude.
  12. Any current Wilkerson rumors/news out there? I almost don’t care if they are true or not :)
  13. Tourney is over. 5/6 of Florida’s main rotation guys were portal dudes and ALL 5 of them transferred from non-power conferences. Kind of crazy. Looking forward to seeing what we put together.
  14. RE: Certified Sunshine Pumper: I agree with most of his posts, not all, but in every case his newest avatar has made an irrational difference in my perception of his posts. :) Since switching to the Coach Cig avatar all of his posts seem more authoritative/informative/reasoned/direct/knowledgeable etc. The “Cig effect” is great but sometimes I miss the water pump..LOL
  15. UGH. Not sure why I can’t stop reading recruiting “news” but it has a crack-like hold over me.
  16. I’m hoping this isn’t a prediction along the lines of Wilkerson is allegedly flying to Bloomington in a plane piloted by Brad Steven’s.
  17. Sure would like to see an official Wilkerson notice. #unreasonably antsy/nervous
  18. I would love to know how we pulled this off. An Arkansas fan site, Wilkerson is from Arkansas, mentioned that Wilkerson had spoken with Kansas (they claim Kansas was pushing very hard), Auburn, Arkansas, SMU, Miss and others, with no mention of IU. They described his game as follows: If John Calipari were to put out a help wanted sign in the transfer portal for Arkansas, it might look something like this… Needed: A knock-down 3-point specialist. Ability to create his own shot. Not afraid of the moment. Willingness to come in and contribute right away. Sam Houston State guard Lamar Wilkerson would check all of those boxes. Wilkerson has emerged as one of the top players in the transfer portal and a major target for the Razorbacks – as well as most of their SEC brethren.
  19. Why did he stay? I’d put the odds of Bidunga’s bag “swelling” at 100%.
  20. GREAT GET!!!! I had faith we weren’t going to have to put Sigma Nu’s on the court. 109/245 (44.5%) from the three last year !! OUTSTANDING. 82.2% FT 4 rb’s per game Only not great number I saw, with a 10 second look, was an assist/to of 1/1.
  21. Yes my error, about missing “type”, as has been pointed out 4 times…:) That being said….while I agree with having a strong defender, ie like a Harris Type, I still don’t want a 2G that shot 11% from the three last year. Some guys can defend and shoot from the three. We need 2G’s that open up the floor due to being perimeter threats..
  22. What can I say…….Reading is hard for me. EDIT: also, if the “Harris type” means a tough defender but also a 2G that shot 6/53 (11%j from the three last year my reaction is…no thank you.
  23. Call me greedy but sign me up for a dynamic 3/4 like Tucker and a 3&D 2G. An elite 2G has been a missing component for far too long.
  24. Yep, The tourney reinforces we need to somehow/hopefully find a 2G that is a tough defender AND is an offensive threat from the perimeter and taking it to the rim. Seem to see those guys nearly every game in the tourney but our decade or so search continues.
  25. In regards to the SG: Seeing how Sencire Harris responded, with 4 laughing emoji’s, to a DD interview regarding why he chose to move to IU, I believe there is a very small probability he will follow his coach to IU.
