  1. What a great win. During the season the announcers have gone from basically “yea they won but how real are they?” to touting the program and gushing about our defense and physical play (when has that ever happened in the past) The post game interview was basically an IU recruiting promo. I don’t remember a single interview, in any sport, where multiple players interrupted to call their coach the best in America. Pretty damn awesome.
  2. I loathe myself for this but...... Wiscy - 34 Hoosiers - 21 Needless to say, hope I’m wrong.
  3. I’m watching UNC-Texas and have learned that Walton is ok if you turn down the volume and pour yourself a bourbon.
  4. TJD with an attaboy for Franklin.
  5. The box score does not show you how much information you missed about Bruce Hornsby. Be sure to have the volume up for the last 2/3rd’s of the first half and you will learn more than you ever imagined about Bruce.
  6. Ditto...thats been, by far, my biggest disappointment/complaint. They being said, saw a lot of good today including the fact they came out agressive, and ready to play, from the start.
  7. 20-25 from the charity stripe!!!!
  8. Nice win. Came out aggressive from the get-go. TJD showed up in a big way. Nice D. Franklin had a nice game but the other guards were a bit erratic.
  9. I get your points but after 3+ years it is not inconceivable for people to be tired of inconsistent effort, missing bunnies and poor outside shooting. To your point....did Archie himself miss those shots etc.? No he did not but at some point the coach has some responsibility for players showing up and recruiting guys that can hit shots.
  10. I, for one, do not consider myself a “hater” but am glad the team showed up today. I am in the camp that is tired of the way, way too many “mail it in games” .
  11. It’s been a down decade for that league.
  12. Stanford is picked to finish 3rd or 4th in the Pac 10. If we are on the tourney bubble this could prove to be a big win
  13. 10 minutes until tip-off which means Walton is finishing his “cough cough” pre-game “preparation”. Stanford is picked to be 3rd or 4th in the PAC 10. Just hoping to see us play hard and, as others have mentioned, see TJD get back in the groove. Assuming Al is out it will be interesting to watch the freshmen that will pick up some minutes.
  14. Yes, the captain podium is a little crowded. LOL. I was just happy to see him shooting around (I realize he probably won’t actually play) as I expected to see him on crutches or read that he was having surgery soon.
  15. I agree and have always liked Al. Never viewed him as a future star, when he was recruited, but rather hoped for a hard working 4 year foundational type guy. He has been that, improved every year and we are lucky to have him on our team.
  16. That’s a pleasant surprise as I was expecting to see him in the dreaded walking boot of doom.
  17. I agree that Crean did not leave a lot but look what Crean inherited. We all agree he was a bad coach, in regards to recruiting/defense/substitutions/etc.etc.etc but in year four he was in the sweet 16. A “bad” coach inherited 2 walk-ons and had Indiana in the sweet 16 in 4 years. What is a reasonable expectation for Archie? Returning players on Creans first team: Kyle Tabor Brett Finkelmeier That is unimaginably bad.... Returning players on Archie’s “NOTHING” first team Juwan Morgan Freddie McSwain Zach McRoberts Colin Hartman Robert Johnson Josh Newkrik Devonte Green FAR, FAR from a great roster but way above what Crean inherited. Also, that inherited roster was 9-9 in conference play and came in 6th in the BT both of which have been the best of Archie’s 3 years.
  18. Race and with a big attaboy for AL.
  19. Yep, and not a big surprise as he does not have a BT ready body. It’s just game 2 and I’m confident he will have a very good career. My comment was more in regards to how he has probably been “the man” his entire life but he has jumped into a whole different arena at a very young age.
  20. Really glad we are headed to the winners bracket. I thought we would get a W but no way I thought we would win by 21. Great to see how we played in a game in which TJD was not a force.
  21. This is probably the least Lander has played in his life.
  22. I like to travel but don’t need to hear the Bill Walton travelogue show.
